WILLIAM SILVESTER, OF PITTSBURG, PENNSYLVANIA, ASSIGNOR OF ONE- HALF HIS RIGHT TO WALTER ARMITAGE, OF SAME PLACE.
MPROVEMENT IN BALE-TIES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 197,570, dated November 27, 1877; application filed November 12, 1877.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WILLIAM SILVESTER, of Pittsburg, in the county of Allegheny and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Bale-Ties; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification, and of which Figure 1 is a front view; and Fig. 2, a section taken at as m, Fig. 1.
The invention relates to that class of baleties where the ends of the hoop-iron are simply bent over and slipped under, no holes are required.
The socket is formed by two wings, c a, connected together at their rear part, of a short length only, in order to save metal. Both wings a c are provided inside with small ribs fied.
