is to provide a calendar of the aforementioned character embodying means for displaying changeable advertising matter in an attractive manner.
All of the foregoing and still further objects and advantages of the invention will ,become apparentfrom a study of the follow' ing specification, taken in connection with the accompanyingv drawings wherein like characters of reference designate correspending p arts throughout the several views,
and wherein Figure 1 is a view in front elevation of va calendar constructed in accordance with the present invention.
Figure 2 is a view in front elevation of the back and filler or spacer on said back.
Figure 3 is a view in vertical section, taken substantially on the line 3-3 of Figure 1.

taken substantially on the line 4-4' of Figure 1.

Referring now to the drawings in detail, it will be seen that the embodiment of the invention which has been illustrated coinprises a substantially rectangular glass plate 1 and a back 2 of heavy cardboard or other suitable material. The glass plate 1 is of slightly greater dimensions than the back 2, as illustrated to advantage in Figures 3 and 4 of thedrawings; This is also suggested in broken lines in Figure 2 of the drawings.
Against forward side of the back 2 is a filler or spacer 3 of any suitable material, such as comparatively light cardboard, hav-y ing a substantially rectangular opening 4, the filler or spacer 3 has extending thereinto,

It will'be noted that the advertising'card or Vsheet 7 hasits loweredge' in abutting engagement',or' -substantially so, with the topv of thev calendar pad 9. -The back 2 is provided with cutouts 1() and 11V communicating with' the pockets y6 and 8, respectively, to facilitate obtaining a grip -on theadvertising cardor sheet7 and calendar pad 9 for removing the same. On its outer end, the `advertising card or` sheet 7 is provided witha tab 12 providing means for facilitating the removal of said card orv sheet. AIf desired,`thefront,plate 1 may have its back silvered to provide av mirror which frames the lpicture 5, thecard or sheet 7 and the calendar pad 9.
Securing elements 14 pass through `openings providedtherefor in a manner toybind the front plate 1' and back 2 tightly vtogether with the filler or spacer 3 therebetween. 'Gertain of the securing elements 14 pass through the picture 5. Rosettes Y151 are provided on the securing elements or screws 14. 5 The glass 1 may be attractively ornamented on its back side, as at 16.
The calendar may be mounted on a mantel or other support or suspended on a wall by any suitable means, such as hooks anchored in the cardboard back 2 and a wire connected at its ends to the hooks.
It is believed that the many advantages of a. calendar constructed in accordance. with the present invention will be readily understood, and although theJ preferred embodiment of the invention is as illustrated and described, it is to be understood that changes in the details of construction and in the coinbination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to which will fall within the scope of the invention as claimed.
What is claimed is l. A calendar comprisingv a back, a glass plate, a filler between the glassplate and the back, means for securing the glass plate, the filler and the back together,the filler havingk an opening therein spaced from its edges, a picture inthe opening, said filler further having a Vpocket extending horizontally thereinto from one vertical edge thereof and terminating in spaced relation to the other vertical edge of said filler, a removable advertising card slidably inserted in the pocket, the filler still further having a vertical pocket therein extending fromV its lower edge to an intermediate portion of Ythe first named pocket, a removable' calendar pad slidably i mounted in the second named pocket, an opaque coating on the back of the glass plate having openings therein registering with the opening and the pockets in the filler for eX- posing the picture, the advertising card and the calendar pad., l
