ADJUSTABLE DELIVERY BOX Filed Aug. 14. 1950 2 Sheets-Sheet 2 Inventor AZZerZMOnroe Bay A llomey Patented May 10, 1932 UNITED STATES ALBERT MONROE BAY, DE SOTO, MISSOURI ADJUSTABLE DELIVERY BOX Application filed August 14, 1930. Serial No. 475,259.
This invention appertains to new and useful improvements in receptacles, and more especially to a receptacle of the delivery box type,
such as is used by merchants in the delivery of their commodities.
The principal object of this invention is to provide a collapsible delivery box which will require just so much room as the com-- modities of a particular order will require.
During the course of the following specification and claims, other important objects and advantages of the. invention, will readily become apparent to the reader.
In the drawings Figure 1 represents a bottom plan view of the novel device.
Fig. 2 represents an end elevation of the device.
7 Fig. 3 represents an end elevation looking 20 'at the opposite end from that shown in Fig. 2.
Fig. 4 represents a cross sectional view of the delivery box.
Fig. 5 represents a perspective view of the box in partly extended position.
Fig. 6 represents a longitudinal sectional view of the box in partly extendedposition. Fig. 7 represents a top plan view of the box in extended position.
Referring to the drawings wherein like 30 numerals designate like parts, it can be seen that the box is divided into a pair of sections generally referred to by numerals 5 and 6. Each of these sections is provided with an end wall 7 and side walls 8-8. Each end wall is provided with a cut-away portion 9 within which a handle 10 is mounted. The
upper end portion of the section 5 is provided with a heading 11 telescopic in relation with the outwardly rolled edge portion 12 of the Thus when these sections are fully extended, the end portions 16 and 17 abut to prevent separation of the sections.
While the foregoing specification sets forth the invention in specific terms, it is to be understood that numerous changes in the shape, size and materials may be resorted to without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed hereinafter.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new is 6o 1. A delivery box of the character described comprising a air of sections, the bottom of one section eing provided with elongated guides, and elongated rods each secured at one end to the bottom side of the other section, their remaining ends slidably disposed into the guides on the bottom side of the first-mentioned section.
2. A delivery box of the character described comprising a pair of sections, the inner end of one of the sections being provided with a downturned flange, the inner end of the other section being provided with an upturned flange, said flanges being adapted to abut when the sections are fully extended.
In testimon whereof I afiix my signature.
- BERT MONROE BAY.
