UNITED \STATES PATENT OFFICE.
3082 HABIOJ'AS, O1 EAGLE PASS. ilEXLS.
device of this nature and efficient construction, one which is re-- ao'ranv m.
Application filed January 7, 1884 lerlal Io. 684,864.
To all whom it may comm: Be it known that I, Josr': zen of 'the United States, residing at Eagle Pass, in the county of Maverick and State of Texas, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Rotary Bins, of which the following is a specification. The present invention relates to a rotary bin especially constructed for use underthe counter of a grocery store 'or the like andhas for its principal object to rovide a possessed o a simple liable in use, inexpensive to manufacture, durable, convenient, and well adapted to the purpose for which it is designed.
Withuthe above and numerous other objects in .view as will appear as the description progresses, the invention resides in certain novel features of construction, and in.
Fi ure 1 is a detail, perspective view oithe evice embodying my invention,
-1'figure 5 is a top plan view" of the rotary member, and ,l a Figure 6 is a top lan view of the bin.
Referring to'the rawing in detail it will be seen'that the device consists of -a casing A and a rotary bin carrier B and the bin pro er 0.
e casing is ic'onstructed with a cir .cular bottom 1 having a semi-cylindrical wall 2 rising therefrom and'supportin at its upper end a semi-circular to 3. a rotary member B consists of a cor 5 the width of whichis slightly smaller than the diameter of the bottom 1. This door 5 is provided with a pair of registering sleeves 6 in alinement with its vertical center, one sleeve '6 being disposed adjacent the bottom .of the door and extending slightly more below. A shaft 7 is vertically ispoeed in the casin A rising from the center of the circular ottom 1 and passes through the sleeves 6. A washer 8' is disposed about MARIoJ'As, citi i curved concentric with 'the wall 22.
In using the device I find it convenient a closed position-as is shown in Figure 2.
These sleeves 6 are provided on the outer face of the door that is the face which is outermost when said door is in a closed position. A pair of handles 10 is disposed on the outer face of the door one adjacent each to an open position in either direction. As is shown particularly well in Figured the .side thereof so that thesame may be swung inner face of the door 5 has mounted therm on a pair of side strips 11' the iowerportlons of which are broader than the up er ortions. A block 12 is. disposed on t is inner face of the door adjacent the bottom thereof betweentheside stri s 11 and a semi-circular platform 13 is ixed thereto.
7 A triangular shaped 'bra'ce His attached to the blockintermediate its ends so as to brace.
"form 13 and with thesemi-cyl'indrical wall 2 of the casing. The bin (1 rests u on the platform 13 and it is to be noted tiat the outer facesof the side strips 11 are to have the same located under the counter of a: store for instance and when it is desired to take. something from the-bin C the door 6 may be very easily swung to an open sosition. It is evident, of course, that the evice may be used in numerous other ways without departing from the spirit'of thia invention. 1* also desire to numerous changes in the details of construction, and in the combination and arrange ment of parts, may be resorted to without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed or sacrlncing any of its advantages.
Having thus described my invention what I claim as new is: g
In a. device of the class described, a casing including a circularbottom and a semi- C is constructed with a semi-c irthis platform 13. A bracing strip 15 isdis pose on the inner face of the door5 at its up er edge.
ac also point out that circular top with a semi-cylindrical wall therehetween, a shaft extending between the sleeve on the door, and a platform on the top and bottom, a door having a pair of other side of said door for supporting a sleeves on one side thereof for receiving bin. 1
the shaft, one of said sleeves extending be- In testimony whereof I afiix my signe- 5 low the bottom edge of the door, a washer ture.
on the shaft resting on the bottom of the casing so as to be engaged by the bottom JOSE MARIOJAS.
