This invention relates to certain new and useful improvements in burglar alarms designed for application adjacent doors, windows and other closures to frustrate attempts at unauthorized-entry.

One of the principal objects of the invention consists in the arrangement of a trigger 'capable of being removed and replaced. at will within the dwelling to facilitate authorized opening of the windowsor doors without incurring operationof the alarm.

An additional object of the invention consists of a'yieldably supported striker element designed for contacting engagement with a percussion cap located in the path of movement thereof.

10, has supported thereon a percussion or other cap 16 located in the path of movement of thehead 17 of a striker element 18. The striker element is of yieldable formationto permit of its being flexed to occupy the full line position shown in Figure 2 of the drawings and for subsequent active position shown in dotted lines in Figure 2 of the drawings to strike and explode the percussion cap. An auxiliary wall 19, carriedwithin the confines of the boxing 10, defines a compartment 20 within which .one end of the striker element 18 is disposed. An enlargement 21, formed upon that end of the striker element 18 within the compartment 20, is designed to prevent displacement of the striker element when shifted to occupy itsrespective positions. A trigger in the nature of a flexible V-shaped body 22, swingably supported as at 23 upon a pin member 24 within the boxing 10, forms a seat 25 adjacent its opposite end against which thefree end of the striker element 18 reposes, substantially as illustrated in Figure 2 of the drawings. An extension 26, carried by the, trigger 22 beyond the seat 25, is sprung against one side of a peg or pin 27 to prevent the seat 25 from becoming accidentally disposed, during the seating operation, out of the .path of movement of the hammer carrying end of the strikerelement 18. A cord or other flexible connection '28, having engagement with the trigger 22 adjacent the points of connection of the seat 25 and extension 26,

A loop or ring 30, formed in the opposite end of the flexible connection 28 may be passed over a door knob or connected with a pin upon a movable portion of a closure whereby the seat 25 of the trigger may be released to occupy the dotted line position shown in Figure 2 of the drawings upon the occasion of the door or closure being partially opened whereby the hammer head 27 will contact with the percussion cap 16 and set off the necessary alarm to frustrate the attempted unauthorized entry and toappraise the occupants of the dwelling of the attempt. A'stud 31, carried upon the rear wall of the boxing 10, has rockingly connected therewith the sleeve like portion 32 of a striker element resetting lever 33. The sleeve like portion 32 is also provided with pockets 34 located at diametrically opposite points therein to accommodate the prongs 35 of the key element 36 whereby the striker element may be reset from the outside of the boxing without necessitating removal and replacement of the cover plate. As will be noted from the illustration in Figure 1 of the drawings, the openin in the cover plate adjacent the anvil 15 is substantially enlarged in order that the percussion caps may be suitably arranged upon the anvil. The invention is susceptible of various changes in its form, proportions and minor details of construction and the right is herein reserved to make such changes as properly fall Within the scope of the appended claims. Having described the invention, what is claimed is :v

1. A burglar alarm comprising a housing having an anvil located therein and adapted to support a cap, a flexible striker mounted in the housing and having a free end normally disposed upon theanvil, spaced pins located in the housing, a spring trigger mounted upon one pin and having an end bearing against the other pin, said trigger being provided with a seat located at a point between said pins and upon which the free end of the striker is adapted to engage and an element attached to the intermediate portion of the trigger and adapted to be used to move the seat away from the striker.

2. A burglar alarm comprising a housing having an anvil located therein and adapted to support a'cap, a flexible striker mounted in the housing and having a free end normally disposed upon the anvil, spaced pins located in the housing, a' spring trigger mounted upon one pin and having an end bearing against the other pin, said trigger being provided with a seat located at a point between said pins and upon which the free end of the striker is adapted to engage and a key operated lever located in the housing and adapted to be used for resetting the striker.
