BATH ATTAUHMENT Application filed July 29,
This invention relates to bath attachments and one feature of the invention is the provision of a seat that maybe attached to or made a part of'any preferred form of, bath tub.
A' further feature of the invention is the provision of a shield or hood for the seat portion of the attachment.
A further feature of the invention is the provision of means for discharging streams of water over the body of the bather while in a sitting posture and at the same time prevent the 'water being splashed over the floor surface.
Other objects and advantages will be hereinafter more -fully set forth and pointed out in the accompanying specifieation.

Figure 3 is a front elevation of the seat and the shield therefor removed from the tub.
Referring to the drawings, the numeral 1 indicates a bath tub, which ma be of the usual or any preferred make, and Q indicates a seat structure, which is preferably provided with a vertical wall 3, along the side edges and rear portion thereof, the rear portion of said wall being preferably curved to fit' the contour of the body of the bather.
The top edge of the wall 3 is preferably provided with an outwardly extending flange 4, which fits over the top edges of the bath tub 1 for supporting the seat a prescribed distanee from the bottom of the tub.
Extending upwardly from the seat structure 2 and preferably resting on the flange 4, is a shield or hood 5, said shield being formed in one piece or built up of any suitable material, such as tile blocks Or the like and extends a suflicient hei ht above the seat structure to protect the ody 'of the bather and 1929. The upper face of the flange 4 is preferably provided with an upwardly extending rib 7, which forms a brace for the lower edge of the shield and prevents leakage of water at this point, said rib being especially required when le shield is built up of blocks of tiling or the lVhile I have illustrated in a general way, certain instrumentalities which may be employed in carrying my invention into effect, it is evident that many modifications may be made in the various details, without departing from the scope of the appended claims, it being understood that my invention is not restricted to the particularexamples herein described;
What I claim is:
1. In a bath attachment, a seat structure adapted to be entered in a bath tub, a flange on said seat structure adapted to support the seat structure within the bath tub, and a shield extending upwardly from said seat structure;
2. In a bath attachment, a seat adapted to so be positioned within a bath tub, a flange on said seat for supporting the same, a shield associated with said seat, and a rib extending upwardly from the flange of said seat adapted to form a brace for said shield andpress vent leakage at the point of connection between said seat and shield.
