A plate 36V is mounted ontop of thehoi'izontal flangek of said latter" arm 13 and has an elongated slot- 36a therein through which pass the headed and nutte'd bolts 37 secured vinthe arm 13,- the plate 36' beingadapted to extend over the socket 13aand having its front lend bent slightly upwardly to'form a finger-piece or operating means. The socket 13a receives the other end of split shaft- 35. The outer end of shaft 35 is not split and formeel asa crank 35a having thereon the h'andlek38.y i @ne section of the Shaft 35 is secured' to one half 39 of a roll 39 andtheother half of shaft 35 is s'ecuredto the other hal-f 391? ofsaid roll, said roll 39 eX- tending between theV arms '13. Tensioning arms 40 are provided having flat curved. front portion ,40? adapted'to. engage thel lower portion of roll 39` or material thereon,V which arms extend horizontally andhave vertically arins40 are urged against the roll`crs'39 or the material thereon by tensile springs 42 secured` to their horizontal portions and. to the outer ends of arms 41. l
The standards 10 have spaced apertures 10a therein formingbearings for rods 43 carrying thev roller-s 44 on which the rolls of' material 45 willbefcarried. Y
In operation.. the material on one of the rolls 45 will be. drawn forwardly and'will pass under the roll 32, ifit be from: one of the rolls 44 above said roller. lf material should be drawn from one: of the rolls 44 below roller 32.,` the materiah preferably would be passed over the top of roller 32.( The material is Vpassed under thel drum 201 of the measuring device 20. and over roller 21,.'and over the bars 22, the member 27 and cutter diskv 30 at thistime being at one extreme end of the bar 24. The plate 36 is VVnow slid rearwardly t-o uncover the recess 13a. The'roll 39 andshaft 35 eani'now .bel lifted at the right hand end. as
shown inllig. 1,'so that the halves 39a and; 39" of roll 39 can-be separated. -l The free edge of theumaterial is nowu placed between, ,said` halves and sha-ft 35 again 4dropped.into recess 13a and plate .36 drawnforwardly. The mf;- terial is now held in theroll' 39 so that the roll can be rolled by means of crank 35u-and the material dra-wn forwardly. The material isaccurately measured as itis drawn-under the friction drum 20h, said drum being rotated by theforward' movement of the material.y The measuring device 20 indicates theflengtlr of same across the bar 24.
' be released. The material -is thus wound on the roll 39 and is held in compact form thereon by the-arm 40. Then the vcrank 35n is released therefore the material will not, spring back and bulge at the roll 39. The operator now grasps the member 27a and moves the The material is quickly and neatly cut by the shearing' action of disk 30 against one o't t-he bars 22 and the desired length of material thus severed. The material can now be tied with a. string, the plate 36 moved rearwardly and shaft 35 raised from recess 13a and drawn from the bearing in the arms 13 at the left of Fig. 1, when the material can be withdrawn from roll 39 and said roll and shaft 35 again placed in position. The measuringdevice can be raised out of operative position when desired by engaging the innerportion 01"' rod 17. in recess 19a. The specic structure of the measuring device forms no part of the present invent-ion and is separately claimed in applicants co-pending application, Serial Number tiled November 25, 1925. The cutting disk 30 is maintained always in position to be traversed for cutting the material by action of the springs 26 engaging bar 24. When desired, the members 14 can be disengaged from and parts carried thereby may be swung down to vertical position. V
From theabove description it is seen that applicant has provided a very simple and efficient` dispensing and cutting device for flexible sheet material. The device may ef"- ciently be used with the rack shown in applicants Pat-ent No. 1,462,349 granted July 17,' 1923, or may be used with any suitable standard carrying the rolls of material. The device is quite simple and leasily and inexpen- The same has been amply demonstrated Vin actual practice and found to be very successful and etcient.
It will, of course, be understood, that various changes may be made in the form details, arrangement and proportions ot the device without departing from the scope of applicants invention, which, generally stated, consists in a device capable ot carrying out the objects above set forth, in the novel parts and combinations of parts disclosed and defined in the appended claims.
What is claimed is:

A device for dispensing metal screen material having in combination, a trame including spaced substantially horizontally eX- tending arms, a pair of bars extending bctweenand supported by said arms, said bars having adjacent edges at their tops, the space between said bars being open at the bottom, a disk cutter movable longitudinally of said bars and having its lower portion disposed between and in engagement wit-h said bars, one side of said cut-ter engaging one of said adjacent edges in shearing relation, means for guiding' said disk cutter along said bars in both directions, means for yieldingly holding said cutter in engagement with said bars, means for supporting a roll of said screen material at one side of said bars, and means for drawing said screen material under t-he said bar, whereby said cutter may be moved across said screen material and the latter cut.
2. A device :tor dispensing metal screen material having in combination, a frame including spaced substantially horizontally extending arms, a pair ot bars extending between and supported by said arms, said bars having adjacent edges at their tops, the space between said bars being open at the bottom, a revoluble disk cutter having its lower portion disposed between and in engagement with said bars and having one side flat and disposed against one of said bars in shearing relation, means for supporting said cutter and guiding the same for movement in both directions longitudinally of said bars for holding the same yieldingly in engagement therewith.
3. A device for dispensing metal screen material having in combination, a frame, a cutter bar extending thereacross, a member supported on said frame and extending longitudinally of said cutter bar above t-he same across said trame, a cutter trame guided on 4 engaging the under side of said member, and
means for yieldingly moving said member toward said cutter bar.
4. A device for dispensing metal screen material having in combination, a frame having spaced vertical members, a pair of arms pivoted respectively to said vertical members and adapted to depend in vertical position, means for holding said arms in substantially horizontal position, means on said vertical member for holding a roll of said screen material, cutting means supported by said arms and extending therebetween, Ojuiding means beneath which the screen material passes supported on said arms and means supported on said arms for drawing said sheet of screen material from said supporting' means through said cutting means.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature.
