This invention relates to a rotatable, re-
frigerated, horizontally disposed, combined display and storage device designed primarily for'use for displaying, storing and selling of candy, but it is to'be'understoo'dithata device, in accordance with this/invention-may be employed in any Connection for which it may be found applicable, and the invention has for its object to provide, in a manneras hereinafter set forth, arotatably supported, horizontally disposed element having a refrigerant compartment surrounded by a series of readily accessible storage compartments for the reception of different articles ofmerchandise to be dispensed therefrom, andwith each storage compartment including means for maintaining in spaced relationtothe articles stored therein similar articles in displayed position, whereby the character of the articles in the compartments can be readily. ascertained and further whereby a customer can readily see the character of the articles which are stored in the compartments. 1
A further object of'the invention-is to provide, in a manner as hereinafter" set forth, a
device for the purpose set forth including rotatably supported, horizontally disposed element havingarefrigerantcompartment and a series of communicating,"readily accessible storage compartments surroundingthe' refrigerant compartment, readily accessible and formed in a mannerto d splaythe art cles of merchandise contained therein.
A further object ofthe invention is, to provide', in a manner as hereinaftersetforth, a device for the purpose referred to for storing different articles of merchandise for dispensing by sale, and further-including means for displaying articles of merchandise similarto the articles stored for dispensing purposes.
.A further object of theinvention is to provide, in a manner as hereinafter set forth,la device for the purpose referred to including i a refrigerant compartment :and aseries of compartments surrounding the refrigerant compartment and adapted to have stored therein articles of merchandise for dispensing by sale, and with-the device furtheriincluding means whereby access c'an'be readily had to the storage compartments, and with-"means throughout the several views :of the device.

Further objects of the invention are to pro-- vide,in a manner as hereinafter set forth, a
rotatable, refrigerated, combined dis lay and storage devicefor the purpose referred to which is simple in its construction and arrangement, strong, durable, attractive in appearance, thoroughly efficient in its use, conveniently rotated, enabling ready'access to the articles of merchandise stored therein, readily assembled and comparatively inexpensive to manufacture. y =1 With the foregoing and other objects in View the invention consists of the novel construction, combination and arrangement of parts as hereinafter more speclfically described, and illustrated in-the accompanying drawings, wherein isshown an embodiment of the invention, but it is to 'beunderstood that changes, variations and modifications can be resorted to which fall within the scope of the claims hereunto appended.

Thatelement-of the devicewhich provides the refrigerant compartment or chamber and thestorage compartments or chambers,
is illustrated by wayofexample ofpjolygonal crosssection disposed .horlzontally and rotatablysupported at its ends, but it :is to be understood that the cross sectional contour of-such element can be as desired,butpreferably such element isset up as of polygonal cross section.
The device includes a rotatable shaft .1. winch extends lengthwise of the compartment element 2 axiallythercof, projects from each end of element 2, as at 3, 1 and has its ends 3, 4 mounted in the combined seat and retaining portions 5, 6 respectively, formed at theuppcr ends of the upstanding side portions 7, 8, respectively, which project from the ends 9, 10, respectively, of the rectangular base 11 of a stationary, skeleton supporting element 12. 'The length of the supporting element greater than the lengthof the element 2 and'the latter is positioned between the side portions 7, 8, of element 12.
The shaft 1 is fixedly secured to element 2. The element 2, centrally thereof, is formed 7 with a hollow, cylindricalmember 15, of the desired diameter and provided at one end with a closure 16 and at its other end with a closure 17. Preferably the member is constructed of metal. The member 15 provides refrigerant chamber 18. The closed ends 16, 17 of the member 15 have central openingsv 19 and bosses 20 on their inner faces which form continuations of the openings 19. The shattl extends through the openings 19 and bosses 20 and 1s fixedly securedto the ends of member 15. The end 16 of member 15 is formed with an'opening 21, to the Wall of which is secured an outwardly directed, inclined, combined filling and discharge tube 22. provided at its outer end with a removable closure cap 23. The tube 22 is provided forfilling compartment 18 with a refrigerant, such as ice and to enable the discharge of the water from chamber 18 after the ice has-been melted; The clearance 14 is provided for. the passage of the tube when the elen'ient 2 is rotated.
The element '2 further includes a pair of end frames 21, of polygonal contoi and the former isformed with a series of quad rant-shaped openings 26 and the latter with a series of quadrant-shaped openings 27.
Each frame is also formed with a central ope111ng-28,-wh1ch corresponds in contour to the :shape of member 15 and the latter er;-

-, and these latter are fixedly secured to member15 inwardly with respect to the ends '16A17 of member 15. r
j S urro'unding the member 15, seated there-' partnients. providejd ' bythe end frames 24, 25, menistorage compartments on and extending from frame 2 1 to frame 25 is a series of flat members 29 which correspond in number to the number ofstorage compartments and provide the bottom for such compartments. The members 29 are perforated as at 30 to enable the refrigerant to refrigerate or cool the articles within the storage compartments, and these latter compartments will be presently referred to.
The members 29 are of rectangular contour and the side edges thereof abut. The members 29 are secured to the frames 2%, 25 and if desired, can be secured to the member 15- WVhen; the members 29 are arranged in abutting position the cross section thereof will'be of polygonal contour.
' The elements 2 further include a series of spaced,radially disposed partitions 31 of a length to extend from frame 24; to frame 25. The inner lengthwise edges of the partitions 31 overlap the joints between the side edges The storage compartments are bers 29, partitions 31 and closures 32. As illustrated, the element 2 is set up with eight and. each of which gradually increases in width from its bottom 29 to a closure 32. The frames 2e, 25 overlap the transparent closures 32, as indicated at 33. Retaining strips 34 are provided for the closures 32 and such strips 34: are arranged between the partitions 31.
One end wall 'ofeach compartment is provided by a transparent panel 35 suitably securedwithin theend frame 25. The other end wall of each compartment is provided by ahinged door 36 positioned in an opening 26, hinged to the frame 24, as at 37, and providedrwitha knob or handle piece The door 36 snugly engages the wall of the 'op'eningz26. The openings 27 are closed by the transparent panel 35. The partition are formed with openings 39 for establishin g communication between the storage coinpartments 40 whereby the passage of cool -air can circulate through theconipartments. 1

Each "storage" compartment is promded with means for supporting in displayed po .sition: articles similar to the articles which are. stored within the compartment. The
said:meansis so constructed as to permit-of the displayed articles being refrigerated or space 42 communicates with a storage compartment 4O rearwardly of tray 41. As the frigerant cooled, and said means further sepa ates the displayed articles from the articles stored within the compartments and the said means is so arranged as to provide a display space at the outer portion of the storage compartments. The said means consists of a foraminous tray 41 which is detachably secured in position in any suitable manner, in proxinr ity to the panel 32 but arranged a suitable distance inwardly with respect to panel 32 to provide a display space 42. As the tray 41 is foraminous, the articles supported thereby will be refrigerated, or cooled as display space 42 will be filled with the articles which are to be displayed, the shifting of the articles is prevented when element 2 is rotated, and further the (llSPlfiYedfiltlClGS are maintained separate from the stored articles by tray 41.
The doors 36 provide means whereby convenient access can behad'to the compartments 40 for the purpose of removing stored articles when occasion requires.
It is thoughtthe many advantages of a rotatable, refrigerated, combined display and storage device for the purpose referred to can be readily understood, and although the preferred embodiment of the invention is as illustrated and described, yet it is to be understood that changes: in the details, of construction can be had which will fall within the scope of the invention as claimed.
Unit I claim is:
1. A combined display and storage device comprising longitudinally disposed element provided with a plurality of storage compartments having transparent outer walls, and a skeleton support havingupfor closing the openings in one of said frames, transparent panels for closing the vopenings in the, other of said frames, 'aper compassing said cylinder at an end thereof and provided with spaced openings, flat, abutting, perforated bottom members seated on the outer periphery of the casing and extending from one frame to the other, radially disposed, spaced, apertured partitions seating .on the bottom members and in connection with the latter and said frames providing storage compartments, transparent panels seated on said partitions, secured to said frames and closing the fronts of said compartments, hinged elements for closing the openings in one of said frames, transparent elements for closing the openings in the other of said frames, and a supporting shaft extending through said chamber and projecting from the ends of said casing.
