My present invention relates to boxes intended for the convenient reception and retention of a bathrobe or like garment, with or without bath or other slippers or the like, and aims to devise articles of the general character specified which are simple in construction, which may be readily and convenently fabricated and assembled, which are cheap to manufacture, which are neatand attractive in appearance, and which are adapted in an eiiicient, convenient and attractive manner to receive for display and shipping purposes the bathrobes or like garments and the bath or other slippers or the like. 15 In the accompanying specification I shall describe, and in the annexed drawing show, an illustrative embodiment of the devices of the present invention.

Referring now to the aforesaid illustrative embodiment of the present invention,

and with particular reference to the drawing illustrating the same, 10 in Fig. 1 of the drawing indicates generally a blank for a band, said blank comprising the substantially central main web portion 11 and the end tabs 12 and 13. It will be noted that the end tabs 12 and 13 are tapering, being substantially in the form of trapezoids. It will also be noted that the end tabs are bilaterally notched. That is, the end tab 12 is provided with the notches 12 and 12 between it and the main web portion 11, while the end tab 13 is-provided with the notches 13 and 13 separat ing the end tab 13 from the main web portion 11. It may here also be stated that the end tabs 12 and 13 are foldably associated with the main web portion 11 so that the tabs can be folded down for insertion into the slots in the box member as will later be described in considerable detail.

20 in Fig. 2 of the drawing illustrates a blank for a slipper-receiving portion which serves also to separate or partition the portion of the main box tray receiving the bathrohe or like garment from the portion of said tray notched to receive the slippers. The blank 20 comprises an intermediate partition portion 21. Foldably associated with one edge of the intermediate partition portion 21 is a bottom slipper-receiving portion 22 which may have the heel-abutting portion 23 integrally associated therewith and adapted to be struck up therefrom. 24: indicates the top or retaining portion of the slipper-receiving tray or like member 20. The top or re taining portion 2 1 may comprise the substantially triangular end portions 25 and 26 which serve to reinforce the retaining portion 24. Also associated with the top portion 24: is the retaining flap 27. It mayhere be stated that the portions 25, 26 and 27 are each foldably associated with the intermediate portion 21. It may here also be stated that the end portions 25 and 26 have associated therewith the end flaps 28 and 29. These latter are substantially elliptical or oval in form and are preferably bilaterally notched. That is, the end flap 28 is provided with the inner notch 28' and the outer notch 28". Similarly, the end flap 29 is provided with the inner notch 29 and the outer notch 29". It may here further be stated that the tabs 28 and 29 are adapted to be received in suitable slots in the main box tray as will be described in considerable detail forthwith.

As more clearly illustrated in Figs. 8., 9 and 10 of the drawing, 1 provide a main box tray or member generally designated by reference character 30 and comprising the bottom portion 31, the end portions 32 and 33 and the side portions 34 and 35. The ends 32- and 33 and the sides 34 and 35 are preferably two-fold. That is, they are preferably made of two folds of material, the fold being at the upper edge of the main box tray or member 30. I

So that the tabs 12 and 13 of the transversely disposed band 10 may be suitably received i. by the main box tray ormember 30, I prefer that the sides 34 and shall be slotted as designated by reference characters 34 and These slots are so dimensioned that the end tabs 12 and 13 ofthe transversely disposed band 10 will haveto be sprung into placein the respective slots 34 and 35.

The sides 34 and 35 are also provided with the slots 34 and 35 which are adapted'to receive the end tabs 28 and 29. I prefer that the slots 34 and 35 shall be so dimensioned that the end tabs 28 and 29 will have to be sprung into the slots so that the slipper-receiving tray 20 will be securely held in position within the main box tray or member 30.

It may here be stated that 25 and 26 indicate integral foldable extensions of the intermediate partition member 21 serving to properly position the slipper-receiving tray 20 and to reinforce the same within the main box tray or member.

This completes the description of the construction and mode of assembly of the aforesaid illustrative embodiment of the present invention. It will be apparent that by the insertion of the end tabs 12 and 13 in the respective slots 34 and 35, the slots being sufiiciently restricted to require the tabs to be springedly forced therethrough, and that by the insertion of the tabs 28 and 29 in the corsponding slots'34 and 35", which slots are similarly restricted so as to require the tabs to be yieldingly forced therethrough, the band 10 and the slipper-receiving tray 20 are properly positioned, the positioning being facilitated by the notches 12 and 12, and 13 and 13 in the case of the band 10 and by the notches 28 and 28, and 29 and 29 in the case of the slipper-receiving tray 20.

In use, the pair of slippers here generally designated by referencecharacter 40 is held together by a. slipper positioning member generally designated by reference character 41 having the toe portions 42 and 43 scored along the lines 42 and 43 so as to permit the toe portions 42 and 43 to become rounded to fit snugly the toes 40 of the slippers 40.

There are also lines of scoring 42 at the toe portion 42 and 43 at the toe portion 43 defining the lateral portions 42 and 43 respectively, these lateral portions being preferably rather sharply bent down, an operation rendered possible by the shape of such portions, so as to spread the toe portions 40 up-.

This completes the description of the method of using the aforesaid illustrative embodiment of the present invention. It will be noted that such embodiment is simple in construction and may be easily and conveniently fabricated and assembled. It permits the bathrobe or like garment and the bath or like slippers to be attractively contained for display purposes and to be safely housed during transit and in storage. present invention, particularly as exemplified in the aforesaid illustrative embodiment of the same, embody other advantages in construction, mode of assembly and use in part set forth in the earlier portions of this specification and otherwise obvious to those skilled in the art to which the present invention relates.

What I claim as my invention is:

1. A blank for a slipper tray for a container, comprising an intermediate partition portion and a slipper-receiving portion associated with said partition portion and having a heel-abutting portion adapted to be struck up from said slipper-receiving portion.

'2. A blank for a slipper tray for a container comprising an intermediate partition portion, a slipper-receiving portion 'as sociated with said partition portion and having a heel-abutting portion adapted to be struck up from said slipper-receiving portion and a retaining portion also associated with said intermediate partition portion.

3. A blank for a slipper tray for a con tainer comprising an intermediate partition portion and a slipper-receiving portion fold- The devices of the ably associated with one side of said intermediate partition portion and having a heelabutting portion adapted to be struck up from said slipper-receiving portion.

4. A blank for a slipper tray for a container, comprising an intermediate partition portion, a slipper-receiving portion foldably associated with one side of said intermediate partition portion and having a heelabutting portion adapted to be struck up from said slipper-receiving port-ion and a retaining portion foldably associated with the other side of said intermediate partition portion.

5. A blank for a slipper tray for a container, comprising an intermediate partition portion, a slipper-receiving portion associated with said partition portion and having a heel-abutting portion adapted to be struck up from said slipper-receiving portion and a retaining portion also associated with said intermediate partition portion, said retaining portion being provided with a plurality of foldable end tabs.

6. A blank for a slipper tray for a container, comprising an intermediate partition portion, a slipper-receiving portion foldably associated with one side of said intermediate partition portion and having a heel-abutting portion adapted to be struck up from said slipper-receiving portion and a retaining portion :toldably associated with the other side of said intermediate partition portion, said retaining portion being provided with a plurality of foldable end tabs.

7 A blank for a slipper tray for a container,.comprising an intermediate partition portion, a slipper-receiving portion associated with said partition portion and having a heel-abutting portion adapted to be struck up from said slipper-receiving portion and a retaining portion also associated with said intermediate partition portion, said retaining portion being provided with a plurality of foldable end tabs and being provided also with an intermediate flap portion.

8. A blank for a slipper tray for a container, comprising an intermediate partition por tion, a slipper-receiving portion foldably associated with one side of said intermediate partition portion and having a heel-abutting portion adapted to be struck up from said slipperreceiving portion and a retaining portion foldably associated with the other side of said intermediate partition portion, said retaining portion being provided with a plurality of foldable end tabs and being provided also with an intermediate flap portion.

9. In a container for a garment and a plurality of slippers, a main box tray in combination with a partition 'member for providing a slipper-receiving tray portion adjacent one end of said main box tray, said slipper-receiving tray comprising a bottom portion provided with a struck-up heelabutting portion.

10. In a container for a garment and a plurality of slippers, a main box tray in combination with a partition member for providing a slipper-receiving tray portion adjacent one end of said main box tray, said slipper-receiving tray comprising an upper portion provided with a plurality oi? tabs at its ends and said main box tray being provided with a plurality of slots for receiving said tabs.

11. In a container for a garment and a plurality of slippers, a main box tray in combination with a partition member for providing a slipper-receiving tray portion adjacent one end of said main box tray, said slipper-receiving tray comprising a bottom portion provided with a struck-up heelabutting portion, said slipper receiving tray being also provided with an upper portion v provided with a plurality of tabs at its ends and said main box tray being provided with a plurality of slots for receiving said tabs.

12. In a container for a garment and a plurality of slippers, a main box tray in combination with a partition member for providing a slipper-receiving tray portion adjacent one end of said main box tray, together with a transversely disposed removable band provided with a plurality of foldable tabs at its ends, said main box tray being provided with a plurality of slots for receiving said last-mentioned tabs.

13. In a container for a garment and a plurality of slippers, a main box tray in combination with a partition member for providing a slipper receiving tray portion adjacent one end of said main box tray, said slipper-receiving tray comprising a bottom portion provided with a struck-up heel-' abutting portion, said slipper-receiving tray being also provided with an upper portion provided with a plurality of tabs at its ends and said main box tray being provided with a plurality of slots for receiving said tabs, together with a transversely disposed removable band provided with a plurality of foldable tabs at its ends, said main box tray being provided with a plurality of slots for receiving said last-mentioned tabs.
