round in shape having their lower portion flattened and containing an edge at the bottom. lit is my object to provide a container with a narrowed lower part to closely fit such tubes, and which will require a mlnimum of space in packing such containers.

The invention consists in the combinations and arrangements of parts hereinafter described and claimed.

The invention will be best understood by reference to the accompanying drawings forming a part of this specification, and in which,

Fig. 1 is a perspective view of the box; and

Fig. 2 is a view of a blank from which the box is formed by folding along the dotted lines.

The form of invention illustrated comprises a rectangular bottom wall to one side of which is joined a triangular side wall 11, having a rectangular top wall 12 conhill nected to its opposite side. At the other side of said top wall a second triangular side wall 13 is formed, to the opposite side of which is connected a closing member 14 which is provided with a flap 15 at each end. The bottom wall 10 is provided with lateral slits 16 adapted to receive the flaps15 of the member 14, and at one end of said bottom Wall an end wall 17 is connected which is provided with a flap 18 adapted to engage beneath the top wall 12 in closing the box. The triangular side walls 11 and 13 are provided with end flaps 19 and 20 respectively, and the to wall 12 is'provided with an end flap 21 a apted to be folded inwards to contact with the inner side of the bottom wall to assist in retaining the members in position, the folded portion between the wall 12 and flap 21 forming the end edge of the box. The blank may be cut out from pasteboard or any other-suitable material, and the box is folded as shown in Fig. 1, and as is well understood.

It is evident from the above description that l have provided a box which will closely fit the usual dentifrice tube, and by its triangular shape will require a minimum of space in packing, and also presents an attractive appearance.

While I have illustrated and described the preferred form of construction for carrying my invention intoefl'ect, this is capable of variation and modification without departing from the spirit of the invention. 1, therefore, do not wish to be limited to the precise details of the construction set forth, but desire to avail myself of such variations and modifications as come within the scope of the appended claims.

Having described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:

1. A dentifrice container comprising two triangular side walls, rectangular top and bottom walls alternating with said side walls, one of said walls being provided with flaps and its adjacent wall with slots for the reception of said flaps, a rectangular end wall extending from said bottom wall and provided with a flap engaging under said top wall, and a flap on the top Wall bent inward and engagingthe inner side of the bottom wall.

2. A dentifrice box constructed from a blank of cardboard and comprising two triangular sidewalls, an intervening rectangular top Wall and bottom wall, a rectangular end wall formed integral with said bottom wall and having a flap at the free end for insertion under the top wall, means on the side wall for insertion in slots in the bottom wall. to hold the box in shape, and a flap on the top wall engaging the inner side of the bottom wall, forming the lower edge of the box and assisting in retaining the members in position.
