The present invention relates to an attachment for hair. clippers particularly deirignedfor use on electro-magnetically operated hair cli pers. v i
important object of the invention is to provide anattachment of this nature whichpermits the barber to clip the hair with the. 'ma'gnetically operated hair clip rs without the necessity of finishing upwith hand operated hair clippers. V At the present time, it is. customary for a barber to use the electrmmagnetieally operated hair clippers for the major portion of the hair cut and to finish up'with hand clippers. My attachment is formed in such manner that the barber is able to rock the.
electric-magnetically driven hair clippers to i place the same at variousangles to the head for cutting the hairs'at any desired length. 2 Thus as the clippers are moved upwardly, they may be rocked. gradually so as to give the proper trim.
Anoth r very important object of the invention resides in the production of an attachment of this nature which is capable of being held on the electro-magnetically operated clippers without independent-fastens ing means.
I A still further important object of the invention is to provide an attachment or this nature, that is exceedingl simple in its con struction, strong, dura ,e, easy to attach Y and detach, inexpensive to manufacture, thoroughly reliable and efiicient in use, and otherwise well adapted to the purpose for which it is designe I With the above and numerous other objects inview as will appeanas the descrip* tion proceeds, the invention resides in certain novel'features of construction, and in the combination and arrangement of parts :as will be hereinafter more fully described In the drawingia 7 Figure 1 is an elevationsofa well known pe of magnetically driven hair clipper olwing my attachment associated. therewit 2 is a bottolgplan'" ide'w oi the attachment on the gin d plate of the clippers Fig. 3 is a transverse section therethrough,
Fig. 4 is 'a'perspective view of the at.-- 4-"minimum.
.4. '.;.Refe.1:ring to the drawin in dean, it will 7 seen that the letter C'des gnates generallya well known type of electro-magnetically driven hair clipper including among other elements, a guard plate G having the shoulder S and teeth T. p Referring now in detail to my attachment, it will be seen that the same is preferably constructed of resilient sheet metal and is formed in a one piece integral struc-v g ture. This attachment'includes a rectangular body plate 5 merging at one lon 'tudinal edge inton body 6 of a comb WhlCll comprises the curved teeth 7 and 8, the latter of which are disposed at the end of the body 6 and have their terminals curved over upon themselves as at 9 to form hooks.
The transverse'sides of'the body 5 merge into rising ends 10 which are slitted as at 11 to form a tongue 12 which is curved to hook over the side edges of the guard late G. The othei longitudinal side edge 0 the body 5 has rising from an intermediate portion thereof a lug 12 for engagement with the shoulder S. It is to be noted that in slipping this attachment over the guard plate G, that the hooks 9 engage the end piece P, the lug 12, the shoulder S, and the "this attachmentof very light material, and
thus prevent" hammering. The spring nature of the attachment also aids in revent- 'ing this hammerin owing to the tight en- 'agement caused y the grippin action iivhen the hooks 9 are disposed dvert the teeth '1 and the lug 12 is engaged over the shoulder S and the tongues 12 are engaged over the side edges of the guard G.
' When the attachment is disposed on the teet on. the neck, nape of the head an sides thereof so thatthe barber may regulate them clippers, it will be seen that .thecurved 8 and! allow the plate to be ocked I start to finish v.s'o that the length of the hairs may be gradually increased asthe cli pers move upwardly thereby. eliminat 1111i .the necessity of fim ing up with hand 0 rs. 9\
- e present embodimento f theinventionhas been disclosed in"detail,-since in actual practice, it attains the features of advantage enumerated as desirable in the statementof the invention and the above description. It will be apparent that changes in the details of construction, and in the combination and arrangemcnt'of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit or scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed, or sacrificing any of' its advantages. Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new is:
1. An attachment of-the class described including a substantially rectangular body of resilient material in the nature of a plate, having one longitudinal edge merging into a comb body from which project curved teeth, the end teeth tern'iinatihg in overhanging hooked extensions, a lug integrally rising from the other longitudinal edge of the first body, ends rising from the transverse edges of the first'body and having curved tongue portions,
2. An attachment of the class described formed from resilient sheet material cut and bent to )rovide a substantially rectangular body having one longitudinal edge merging into a comb body from which project curved teeth, the end teeth terminating in overhanging hooked extensions, a lug rising from the other longitudinal edge of the first body, ends rising from the trans verse edges of the first body andhaving intermediate portions thereof forming curved tongue portions.
In testimony whereof I allix my signature. 1
