' FUR scalar.'
'uiipucation ined rebfuarys, .192ev f serial No. 252,708.
This invention relates to improvements in fur animal heads and hasfor one of its objects the provision of' a novel head of the character referred to adapted to be `used on fur scarfs and the like. j
Another object of the invention is to produce a head of this nature that is highly ornamental and striking in appearance. y j
A further object of the invention is to provide a fur animal head of this nature in which the snout, eyes and ears are made of a jewelled fabric.
A still further object of the invention is to provide a jewelled fabric mask adapted to be placed over and secured to a fur scarf head or the like the said mask being made of diamond colored stones, with stones of contrasting colors to accentuate the main features of the animalV n y Other objects and novel features of my invention will become more apparent as the description proceeds. l In the drawings forming a part of this invention in which similar reference characters 25 are used to describe corresponding parts throughout the several views, and vfinally Y pointed out and specifically defined and indicated in the appended claims, Y
Figure 1 is a perspective view of a portion of a fur scarf, showing my invention as applied thereto, 1
Figure 2 is a top plan view of my ornamented mask before it is applied to the head.
Figure 3 is a perspective view 0f a scarf head, showing a modified form of my invention, and
` Figure 4: is a detail View of the ear` forming section used in the form shown in Fig. 3. j
Referring now to the drawings in detail, 5
j indicates the body portion of a fur scarf provided with a head @having ears 7 projecting therefrom.
It is a well known fact that'the fur on ani- `mal heads employed in the making of scarfs is i very thin and sparse, as it nears the snout.
This, in many instances gives a cheapenmg i and ugly appearance to the scarf. To overcome this defect, I provide a mask 8 made of a fabric studded generally with jewels 9 preferably of imitation diamonds, and with stones or jewels 10 of contrasting color, to indicate the snout 11 and with like colored jewels 12 to indicate the nose 13. Theeyes 14 are made of a central colore-d stone 15 and a plurality of v outer stones 16 of a contrasting color. The color of the stones 10, 12 and '16 is preferably black and the eye stones 15 red. Openings 18v are provided near the upper end of the mask to permit the ears 7 to protrude through the mask when it is secured on the head. f
The mask when cut to the desired shape is drawn tightly over the head with theI ears `7V protruding through the openings 18 and is attached by stitching or sewing same to the head by rows ofstitches 20 at the top of the vhead and by rows of stitches 21 underneath the head. Y
In Figs. 3 and 4:, I have shown a modified form of my invention in which the snout is covered by a section 21 of j ewelled fabric, the ears 22are formed of two ply leaf shaped sections of jewelled fabric and the eyes 23 are formed of circular jewelled` sections of contrasting colored stones.
While I have' describedmy invention as relating to scarf heads, I do not limit myself to f such use as the head of my invention may be 'nsV used for ornamenting or trimming any garment and in any part of same. y
Many changescould be made in the above construction and many apparently Vwidely different embodimentsof this invention could be made without departing from the scope thereof. It is intended that ,all matters contained herein in the above description or shown in the accompanying drawings shall be interpreted as illustrative and notin alimiting sense. It is also to be understood that the language used in the followingv claims is merely intended to cover all the generic and specific features ofthe invention herein de scribed, and all statements of the scope of the invention'which, as a matter of language, Y
might be said to fall therebetween, and that materials, sizes and relativities of parts. are
non-essential, except as called for in the j pearance and selling qualities of a garment l having such an ornamental head.
Having described my invention, .what IY claim as new and desire Vto secure by Letters Patentis: Y L
different color, and eye simulating portions ol stones of contrasting colors.
4. A jewelled mask for fur scarf heads, the 15 said mask having openings through which the ears of the head are adapted to protrude, the said mask consisting of a body portion studded with stones of a desired color, a snout forming portion of stones of a different 20 color, and eye simulating portions made of stones of contrasting colors.
GEORGE J. BARUCH.
