combination of a cylinder having a radial flange at one end formed with a segmental slot, a compression chamber attached to said flange and being of greater diameter than said cylinder, a cylindrical sleeve-valve slidable in said chamber and having an extension projecting through said slot, and a head for said chamber having a skirting extending Within said valve and formed with a cylindrical groove to receive said valve.
3. In an internal combustion engine, the combination of a cylinder and a cylindrical compression chamber connected thereto of greater diameter than the cylinder and having an inner end Wall projecting laterally beyond the Wall of the cylinder formed with a segmental slot, a cylindrical sleeve-valve slidable in said chamber, and an outer head for said chamber, and means extending from said valve through said slot whereby the valve may be actuated.
:t. In an internal combustion engine, the combination of acylinder and a cylindrical compression chamber connected thereto with its axis parallel to but spaced apart from the axis of the cylinder, a substantially radial inner end wall extendin g from the cylinder Wall to close the overhanging portion of said cylinder and formed With a segmental slot, a head for the outer end of said chamber, a cylindrical sleeve-valve slidable in said chamber and having an extension projecting through said slot, and means to actuate the valve.
5. In an internal combustion engine, the combination of a cylinder and a cylindrical compression chamber connected thereto with its axis parallel to but spaced apart from the axis of the cylinder, a substantially radial inner end Wall extending from the cylinder Wall to close the overhanging portion of said cylinder and formed with a segmental slot, a head for the outer end of said chamber, a cylindrical sleeve-valve slidable in said chamber and having an extension projecting through said slot, and means to actuate the valve, said outer head being formed with a. skirting extending through said sleeve valve and engaging said inner end Wall to prevent leakage at said slot.
6. In an internal combustion engine, the
combination of a cylinder, a cylindrical compression chamber of greater diameter than the cylinder connected thereto with its axis parallel to but spaced apart from the axis of the cylinder, a flange extending from the cylinder to close the overhang of the compression chamber, an outer head for said compression chamber, a cylindrical sleeve-valve in said compression chamber, and means to actuate sald valve.
