AUTOMATIC FILM REWINDER.
Application led February The resent invention relates to an automatic film 11e-Winder and aims to provide a structure useful particularly in the displaying of motion picture films. It is the common practice to re-wind the film from the take-off roller, this necessitating an additional operation. The present inventiontion, inexpensive to manufacture, thoroughly.
1o reliable and. efficient in operation, easy to manipulate, and otherwise well adapted to the purpose for which it is designed.
With the above and numerous other objects in view as will appear as vthe descripat tion proceeds, the invention resides in the novel features of construction, and in the combination and arrangement of arts as will be hereinafter more fully descrlbed and claimed. i

present embodiment of the invention has been disclosed in detail merely by way of eX-` ample since in actual practice it attains the features of advantages enumerated as desirable in the statement of the invention and the above description. Obviously, numerous l changes in details of construction and in the combination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit or scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed or sacrificing any of its advantages. v
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new is:
1. A film winding device of the class described including, in combination, a station'- ary shaft, a rotatable shaft in alinement therewith, a drum on the rotatable shaft having a rim, said drum being provided with a slot in the rim, means on the drum adjacent the slot for anchoring the end -of a film which passes through the slot, a collar slid; ably mounted on the s tationary4 shaft, arms extending from the collar and pivoted thereto, rollers pivoted on the ends of the arms within the rim of the drum to hold layers of the film in tight engagement with each other, spring means urging said arms outwardly so that the rollers will tighten the film coil pack formed within the drum, guide means on one of the arms for the film adapted to guide saidilm during the'rotation of the drum whereby succeeding layers are placed within precedin layers of said film.
