Another object of the invention is to so construct the 'sta'nd'that it will be adapted to support not only articles of merchandise but also advertising or display Cards. so that atti-aetive displays may be eifa'nged.

All of the members of the stand are preferably formed 0t wire and each member is preferably termed of a single length of wire bent to the required shape, as will new be explained.

The said section 4 further cornprises an end member 29 connecting the upper ends of the last mentioned portions of the sides 27, and an end member 30 connecting the forward ends of the first mentioned portions of the said sides 2. A cross piece 31 is arranged parallel to the end member 30 and has its ends welded or otherwise united to the upper sides of the first mentioned portions of the side members 27.

In assembling the auxiliary upright or support section a with the upright 2, the said section 4 is disposed in substantially the forwardly and upwardly inclined position illustrated in dotted lines in Figure 5 of the drawings, and with the end member 16 of the upright engaging between the end member 30 and cross piece 31- of the section 4. The sectioneis then moved bodily downwardly until the cross piece 31 engages in the bottom of the seat 26, whereupon the section is then swung rearwardly until the ends otthe end member 31 thereof abut against the under sides of the bends 25 and against the rear sides of the side members 14 of the upright, as shown in full lines in Figure v5 of the drawings.
