To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, Ross C. CoMINeoRE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Sioux Falls, "inthe county of Minnehaha and State of South Dakota, have invented certain new and useful Improvements. in Adjustable Card Holders, of which the fol-' lowing is a specification.
This invention relates to improvements in display card holders.
The primary object of the invention is the provision of an adjustable holder for receiving various sizes of display cards; and for properly supportingthesame for observation.
'A further object of the invention is the provision of a display card holder. of the above described character, which embodies certain easily adjustable and novel extension means for preventing a card from buckling; and to present said card at an angle to the vertical, for display purposes.
. A further object of the inventionlis the provision. of a show cardholder of the above described character, which istartistic in appearance, .yet simple in construction,
.and consequentlyone which can be manufactured at a relatively small cost.
-Other objects and advantages will be apparent during the course of the following detailed description. s

Patented Apr. 11,1922.
In the drawings, wherein for the purpose 7 of illustration is'shown the preferred embodiment of my invention, the letter'A des-' ignates a standard, having means B detachably and adjustably mounted thereon, said means B supporting card engaging members C. An extension unit D is pro vided for connecting said members C.
The. standard A ispreferably of artistic design, including a polygonal shaped-base 10,v formed of upwardly arcuated and converging sides 11, to present a pyramidal'ajo- 'pearance. Suitable lugs, or legs 12 are provided upon the bottom of base 10'to properly support thesame. A. polygonal shaped supporting rod 13 is provided integral with the base 10,:exten'ding upwardly therefrom in avertical position. Itis preferred that the base 10 and rod 13 be of some approved metal-to provide an artistic finish. f
. An upper supporting arrangement 15, coinp-risingpart of the supporting means B is provided, and includesasleeve 16 having'a central aperture therein polygonal in. formation, and for adjustably receiving the pkolygkonal shaped'sha'nk 13 of thestandard suitable clamping screw orbolt 17 is provided on one side of the sleeve 17 for engaging a side of the rod '13, to maintain the sleeve 16 in any supported position on the rod 13, A suitable extension 18 is providedupon one side of the'sleeve 16, land preferably diametrically opposite the set;
screw 17 'The arm 19 is riveted or-otherwise secured uponthis extension 18, and arranged in vertical and parallelrelationwith the rod 13 of the standard-A. Thearm 19* is provided upwardlythereof with lateral quently set forth. j
A lower supporting arrangement; 20, com-. prising a, partfof thesuppo'rting means B, is
H provided'for dispositioniupon the standard 13, below the upper supporting arrangement cludes a' sleeve 21 of'identical formationjas the sleeve; 16'; saidrsleeve 21 including a clamping'bolt22-for adjustment of thesleeve 21 on the rod or standard A. An extension 23 is provided upon the sleeve 21 to receive a supporting arm 2% as by rivetingor the like. The supporting arm 24 comprises a. vertical portion 25 adaptedfor attachment.
,15. The-supportingarrangement 20, in- 7' bers having slots therein to receive portions of said extension unit, to permit relative movement between said members and said extension unit.
3. A card holder, comprising in combination, a standard, upper and lower card engaging members, an arm'adjustably positioned on said standard, and supporting said upper member, a second arm I adjustably mounted below said first mentioned arm to support said lower member on said standard and projecting outwardly from said standard farther than said first mentioned arm, whereby said members can support a card at an angle inclined to the vertical.
4:. A card holder, comprising in combination a pair 01": card engaging members having slots therein, an extension unit comprising a plurality of pivotally connected links, 1
certain ends of said links being reciprocably disposed in the slots of said members to permit relative movement between the card members and the extension units for supporting various sized cards.
5. A card holder, comprising in combination a pair of channel shaped card engaging members, said card engaging members each having a leg thereof provided with longitudinal slots adjacent its ends, an extension unit comprising a plurality of pivotally conneoted links in lazy tong formatiomcertain free ends of said links having extensions thereof for disposition in the slots of said members to permit relative movement between the card engaging members and the extension unit for supporting various sized cards.
6. A card holder, comprising 1n combination a base, a polygonal shaped stem arising therefrom; an upper supporting arrange- 40 supporting arrangement mounted on said stem and including a sleeve adjustably mounted on said stem, and an outwardly and downwardly inclined supporting arm mounted on said stem of said sleeve, said,
lower supporting arm extending outwardly farther than said upper supporting arm, with respect to said polygonal shaped stem; channel members mounted on saidupper and lower supporting arms; and an expansible unit pivotally connected interme --diate said channel shaped members, and expansible upon adjustment of said upperand lower supporting arrangements with respect to each other.- a r V ROSS C.
