Be itl known that I, l/VALTER Kowansiir. a citizen of Poland, residing at Sparta, in the county ot' Monroe and Stat-e ot' iVisconsin, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Steam Closets. ot which the following is a specification. i

This invention relates to new and useful improvements in steam closets adapted tor use for steam or vapor bath purposes.

An important object of the invention to provide a closet or chamber within which a person may receive a steam bath.

A J'urther object ot' the invention is to provide means for controlling the amount ot steam admitted to the closet and the directness of application of the same to the body ot the user.

A still further object of the invention is to provide improved means 'for delivering 'fresh air for breathing purposes to the occupant of the closet.

Other objects and advantages ot the invention will be apparent during the course of the 'following description.

Positioned within the cylindrical body portion 5 of the closet is a seat 19 which is supported by the legs 20, as best illustrated in Figs. l, 3, l and 5. This seat 19 is provided with a substantially rectangularlyshaped pocket 21 within which is slidably positioned the valve 22 having the handle portion 23. Connecting' the pocket 21 with the top :tace of the seat 19 are a plurality ot elongated slots 24 which are in vertical alinement with the elongated slots 25 that are formed in the seat 19 between the pocket 21 and the lower face of the former. 1t will be noted by inspecting Fig. il that. these slots 25 have upwardly converging side walls, the purpose of which will be described at a later point.

Positioned below the seat 19 and in proximity thereto is a steam spray 26 which con sists of a coil of pipe supplied with steam through the steam pipe 27 which is provided with a valve 28 ior controlling the flow of steam therethrough. This coil is provided with a suitable series of apertures 29 through which the steam is discharged into the closet. This spray or coil 26 is provided with a discharge pipe 30 through which the steam that has not been discharged through' the apertures 29 may be exhausted.

It will now be seen that the user of the closet may control the amount of steam beine; discf arged into the closet by operating the valve 9,8 by means ot the valve handle 28, also that the slide valve may be op erated tor permitting the steam to be -fed upwardly through the slots 24 and for directly applying the same to the body of the user or the valve may be closed tor causing the steani to be entirely dscharoed into the closetV without directly apply the saine to the users body.
