COMBINED CALENDAR AND CONTRIBUTION ENVELOPE.

13e it known that I, ADOLF T, Hausnr, a citi'fxen of the Buffalo, in the county of Erie and State of New York, have invented certain vnew and useful lmprovements 1n 'Combined Calendars and Contribution Envelopes, of which the following is ay specification, reference being had'V therein to the accompanying drawing,

`It is contemplated among theobjects of the invention to produce a vcalendar composed of contribution-envelopes arranged on a card, or in a carton, so that there will be aportion of each envelope exposed and, on the exposed portion, there is a date correspending to a certain period of time, such as a week, while the remainder of the envelope under the exposed portion will carry dates in sequence corresponding to the days of that particular week. In addition to this, provision is made for setting out feast days and other church festivals, and these are preferably arranged vertically on a portion of the envelope underv the main period division.

It is further contemplated as an object of the invention to provide reading-matter on the face of the envelope which is, preferably, the portion containing the flap, such reading-matter being arranged in a horizontal direction or across the length of the envelope, the designations on the back being arranged is turned over in a direction towards the reader and by the right hand, the same asin endorsing a check, the characters on the back will be in proper position for reading;

Other objects, such as the forming ot'a calendar from exposed portions of contribution-envelopes, simplicity and economic arrangement and assemblage of the elements, and the production of a novel and compact device which will be useful and efficient for the purposes for which it is used, will, in part, be ap arent and, in part, be brought out more ully in the description which follows.

Certain embodiments of the invention are illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which:

In theseviews, the referencecharacter 1 designates a base, body, or carrier for contribution-envelopes. It is shown, in Figs. 1 and 2, in the form of a card and, on the face thereof, there are arranged a plurality of contribution-envelopes 2. The arrangement is preferably such that a portion of each envelope is secured to the card, as at 8, and slightly in spaced relation to the secured portion of the next succeeding card, so as to leave an exposed portion t on each card which is always open to view. On this exposed portion there are nating a week of the year, or other suitable subdivision of time, and beneath this inat-` further subdivisions ot this period, such as the remaining days of a week or month, as the case may be. These are preferably printed so as to be read vertieally with relation to the length ot the envelope; and, in the present instance, the envelopes are arranged according to weekly subdivisions, the Sunday of each week being placed onthe exposed portion of the envelope and the remaining days of the week placed below in sequence. A designation indicating the particular person to whom the envelopes were issued, and indicated by numeral 5 in the several views, may also be placed on the exposed portion of each envelope and on the face thereof, as shown in Fig. 5.

The oppositevtace of each envelope bears designations of any suitable nature, preferably arranged to be read lengthwise of the envelope, and the designations on the other face are arranged to be brought into proper position by turning the card, from the posicharacters desigtion shown in Fig. 5 towards the reader, with the right hand, as is done in turning a check to endorse it.

These are arranged sequentially With a portion of each exposed, as in the other' embodiment, the exposed portion lmaring designations indicating a subdivision of the calendar into weeks (in the present instance), and the remainder of the exposed portion bearing designations corresponding to subdivisions of the week into days.

From the tore 'oing` it Will be seen that the present invention provides a neat and effective arrangement or' contributioli-envelopes in the form o1" a calendar Which will be likely to be placed in a position Where it will be less liable to be forgotten than if the envelopes Were not arranged in the form of a calendar, as heretofore issued. lVhen arranged in the form of a calendar, these contribution-envelopes are more likely to be hung, up or placed Where they can be seen by the user instead of in a drawer or the like where they are 'frequently -forgotten, and this is an important feature of the present invention. lVhile it has been shown in the particular embodiments herein described, it will be understood that man),7 changes therein may be made in the arrangement thereof and in carrying ont of the scheme, and all of these are intended to be Within the scope of the invention as set forth in the appended claim.

lVhat I claim is:

A calendar comprising a carrier and a plurality of contribution envelopes having their baseY portions detachably secured to said carrier and extending obliquely therefrom, said envelopes being` sequentially arranged on the carrier, whereby portions of certain of the envelopes, bearing designations indicating period subdivisions of time, are exposed beyond the marginal edges oi adjacent envelopes in a series, said envelopes being selectively removable as a Whole from said carrier.
