nERMAN wEPrLEn, or COLUMBUS, MONTANA.
nMAscULATING Toon.
Application led May 2a, 1924. Serial No. 715,146.
l Tol all @cham t may concern:
Be it kown thatl, HERMAN WEPPLER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Columbus, in the county of Stillwater and State of Montana, have invented certain new and use-ful. Improvements lin an Emasculating Tool, of which the/following is a specification.
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in emasculating tools for re moving the maIegenital glands of lambs.
Another important object ofthe invention is to provide an emasculating'" tool of the above l'mentioned character, wherein the same includes cooperating cutter blades for slitting the scrotum, and a pair of cooperating gripping jaws for removing the testicles.
Afurther object of the invention is to provide an emasculating tool ofthe above mentioned character, which is simple in construction, inexpensive, strong and durable and furthermore adapted forthe purposes for which it is desi ed.
Afurther object 1s to provide an emascuf lating tool which is of such a construction as to save considerable time and labor and rendering the removal of the testicles more sanitary. j n 1 Other objects and advantages of this invention will become apparent during thel course of the following description.
In the accompanying drawing forming part of this specification and in which like numerals deslgnate like parts throughoutv the same:
Figure 1 is a top plan view of my improved invention.
FigureQ is a side elevation thereof, and
Figure is a fragmentary detail perspec tive view of one of the levers showing the blalliles and gripping jaw associated therewit v In the drawing wherein -for thel purpose of illustration-is shown the preferredembodiment of my invention, the' numerals 1 and 2 designate a pair of crossed levers which are pivoted intermediate their ends .in the manner shown' at 3 in the drawing.
'Ihe inner ends of the levers are provided with suitable handles 4 and 5 respectively,-
the portions of the levers 1 and 2 adjacent the pivotal connection 3 and disposed on-the opposite side thereof on which the handles are -formed are disposed downwardly as shown at .6 and 7 respectivelyin the drawposed vedges o l .The downwardly extending portions 6 and 7 terminate 'in the horizontally extending inwardly curved outer ends 8 and 9 respectively. 'The curved portions 8 andv 9 terand 15 respectively. The cutter blades are V preferably of arcuate formation and have their arcuate edges extendingsubstantially flush with the outer ,edges of the curved portions 8 and 9 and ``the blades are 'secured to the under sides of the curved portions by any suitable fastening means such las is shown at `16. The cutting edges of the cut- ,ter blades are illustrated at 17 in the drawmg.`
In use, the tool is operated by means of the handle portions 4 and 5 and when the cutter blades are open, the scrotum is held by a person lso' that the cutter blades may engage'the same and by.l operating the hanthe scrotum whereby access to-the testicles may be had. The tool is then operated so thatthe. gripping jaws 10. and 11 will engage the testicles and byjmoving the handle por-f tions. inwardly the teeth on thefinner opf thegripping jaws willsecurely hold the testicles against accidental displacement from the vgripping jaws and by' exerting a pull on the tool, the testicles may fbe easily and readily removed.
olle portions, the cutting edges 17 will slit 'It will thus be' seen from the-foregoing description, that an emascul-ating tool has been provided which will render the removal of the male genital glands more sanitary than the methods now "employed and the simplicity in which my device is'constructed enables the same to be easily aid efficiently operated. Furthermore, the -fngovis-ion of a tool of the abovementioned character, may also be used as an ear marker.
While I have shown the preferred embodiment of my invention, it is to be understood that various changes in the size, shape and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit of the invention and the scope of the appended claim.
of pivoted cross levers, handles provided on A the inner ends thereof, the outer ends of the i levers being directed downwardly adjacent the pivotal connection and thence disposed 10 horizontally and curved, and terminating in a .pairof upstanding -cooperating gripping jaws, the inner opposed feces thereof being provided .with lgripping teeth, `and blades provided with opposed straight cutting.edge
land outer arcuate edges curved concentric with and attached to the outer horizontally disposed and curved portions-of' the outer ends of theleverS.`
In testimony whereof I aiiiXiny signature. w -HERMAN VVEPPLER.
