A spring 16 surrounds the rod12 and Vacting between one of the brackets 13 and a ,collar 17 secured to the rod tends to move the rod to effect the shearing of athread between the member 14 and knife 15, when the arm of lever 11 is withdrawn from the reduced section of the rod 12.
Secured at one end to the collar 17 on rod 12 by slotzand pin connection is a link 18, theotheriend yof which is pivotally connected to one arm'ofV ay leverf19 pivoted tothe cas ing. The oth'errarm of lever 19 has secured to it a. piece ofrubber 20, which .is adapted, when the rod 12 is released and moved under the action ofspring 16, to be moved by the turning of lever 19, through link 18, into contact with wheel Z and act as a brake thereon.
