PORTABLE BUILDING. APiPLlcMloN` Flyin MAY 1a. 1920.

PORTABLE BUILDING.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented FebQZil, 1922.
Application inea May 13, 1920. sei-iai No. 381,132.
To all whom it may concern.'
Beit known that I, PATSY FAssoN, a citizen of the United States, residin at Mount Pleasant, in the county of ll estmoreland and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful improvements in Portable Buildings; and l do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in portable buildings and has for its primary object the provision of a device of the above stated character which consists of few parts and which may be easily and quickly assembled and disassembled when desired and when in the latter condition may be conveniently shipped or moved from one point to another owing to the compactness of the device.
A further object of this invention is the provision of a portable building of the above stated character, which shall be simple, durable, and eiiicient, and which may be manufactured and sold at a comparatively low cost.
With these and other objects in view as will become more apparent as the description proceeds, the invention consists in certain novel features of construction, combination, and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described and claimed.
For a complete understanding of my invention, reference is to be had to the following description and accompanying drawtheir ends connected by tenons 3 tting within each other and are further secured together by hinges 4, providing a construction whereby a pair of said hinges can be detached from a pair of the foundation or supporting sills so that said sills can be folded onto each other when it is desired to ship the device. End and side walls 5 and 6 are positioned upon the foundation or supporting sills and are provided with openings to form doors and windows and said walls are detachably connected together by hooks 7. Strips 8 are secured to the sills 2 and engage the outer faces of said side and end walls and cooperate with cleats 9 in detachably securing said walls to the sills. The cleats 9 are constructed from angle iron and are secured to the walls and sills by suitable fasteners. The side walls adjacent their ends have secured thereto ver- .tically disposed and relatively spaced strips lO to receive the edges of the end walls and said end walls are of a greater height than the side walls and have their upper portions cut to provide substantially triangular-shaped ends to which are secured segmental elements 1l by hinges 12. The elements l1 have oppositely inclined edges for the purpose of causing the end walls to conform to a mansard roof 13 and the latter on its inner face is provided with strips 14 to receive the edges of the elements l1. The roof, besides being supported by the end walls, also rests upon the side walls so as to be firmly supported and to form an air-tight connection between itself and the side walls.
From the foregoing description taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, it should be apparent that a device has been provided which can be easily and conveniently assembled and disassembled and when 1n the latter position will only require a comparatively small space during shipment or storage.
While lf have shown and described the preferred embodiment of my invention, it will be understood that minor changes in construction, combination, and arrangement of parts may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim is:
1. A building comprising side and end walls, said end walls projecting above the side walls and having inclined edges, elements resting on said edges and having oppositely inclined outer edges, and an angular roof resting on the side walls and the 0pand strips seeuredio the roof and receiv- 10 positely inclined edgesl of said elemente. ing `the inclined edges o -Yt-lie Ineinlzjes.V Y
2. A portable building comprising Ysepa In testimony whereof Ialx iny-signatui'e fable side and end walls said ends Walls be-. 1n preseneeof two Witnesses.
ing of greater lieig'ht`tlian the sidewalls PATSY'FSSON and eut away to form inclined edges, lnen'i*n V Y bersfhnged to said edges of the end walls l/Vitnesses: l Y and having oppositely inclined edges7` a man` Y PASQUALEVPERRONE,
sard roof engaging said Walls and members ALFONSO BASILONE.
