Description
Sept. 18, 1923. nw mg C. EXPOSITO KEY RING HOLDER Filed Nov. 22. 1922 W attoz and Patented Sept. 18, 1923.
NETED STATES CARMINE EXPOSITO, OF CONNELLSVILLE, PENNSYLVANIA.
KEY-RING HOLDER.
Application filed November 22, 1922. Serial No. 602,583.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, OARMINE Exrosrro, a subject of the King of Italy, residing at Connellsville, in the county of Fayette and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Key-Ring Holders, of which the following is a specifi cation. V
The present invention relates to key ring 1 hooks or holders and the principal object in view is to produce a device of this nature which will serve as a guarantee against a key ring or the like becoming detached there from.
Another important object of the invention is to provide a device of this character which may be readily engaged with a garment and be prevented from accidental removal there'- from. I
Another object of the invention is to provide adevice of this nature which will be simple and efficient in construction, reliable in operation, inexpensive to manufacture, durable, attractive in appearance, and well adapted to the purpose for which it is designed. 7
Referring to the drawing in detail it will be seen that I have provided the device with an elongated shank 1 having slots 2 and 3 suitably spaced from each other and extending longitudinally of the shank. The shank is constructed with an upper overhanging 4.5 extension 4 terminating in the reduced terminal 5 which is curved so as to extend into the slot 2. At the other end of the shank there is provided the overlapped extension 7 which also terminates in a reduced terminal 8 curved so as to extend into the slot 3. The
upper extension at is adapted to engage the garment or belt for supporting the device and the curved reduced terminal 5 will tend to push a portion of the garment into the slot 2 thereby preventing accidental removal With the above and numerous other obof the device and in the case of a belt this terminal 5 will extend into the slot itself having the same result. The lower extension 7 is constructed for the reception of a key ring which may be readily inserted since the device is formed of spring metal preferably or some such other light material.
A pair of side arms 9 extend laterally from the lower end of the shank 1 and are curved throughout their length in any suitable manner so that their ends terminate at an intermediateportion of the shank 1 between the slots Qand 3 and these ends overlap each other as is indicated to advantage in the drawing and preferably terminate between the shank and the end of the terminal 8. These arms 9 are used for supporting keys which'it is not desirable to have upon the key ring supported by the extension 7.
The foregoing detailed description has been given for clearness of understanding only, and no undue limitation should be understood therefrom.
Having thus described my invention what I claim as new is 1. A device of the class described including a shank, supporting means for the shank, a pair of laterally disposed arms extending from one end of the shank and curved inwardly so as to terminate at an i nterniediate portion of the shank, said terminals overlapping each other.
2. A device of the class described including a shank, supporting means for the shank, an overlapping extension formed on one end of the shank, a pair of laterally extending arms disposed at the same end of the shank and curved throughout their length so as to terminate at an intermediate portion of the shank and so as to overlap each other between the shankand the terminal of the overlapping extension.
y 3. A device of the class described including a shank, supporting means for the shank, a pair of laterally disposed arms extending from one end of the shank and curved inwardly so as to terminate adjacent the shank and to overlap each other at their terminals.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature in presence'of two witnesses.
