Be it known that I, DOROTHY MoHoL- LAND, a citizen of the.United States, residing at Minneapolis, in the county of Hennepin and State of Minnesota, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in an Undergarment, of which the following is aspecication.

This invention relates to womens apparel and more particularly to unde'rgarments for women.

The object of the invention is tol provide a three-in-one garment comprising a .camisole and petticoat cut from a single piece of fabric tothe waistline of which two drawer legs each of-a single piece are attached without any joining seams, said pieces being so yconstructed and connected that the combination garment may be opened out flat for ironing so that it may be passed through a mangle in the same manner as a sheet, towel or other piece of latwork, and yetthe garment by simply adjusting certain draw strings will comfortably fit the wearer and hang gracefully upon the figure and be supported comfortably withoutbi'nding on any portion of the body and which presents van attractive appearance.

Fig. 2 is a front elevation thereof, and, Fig. 3 is an inside view of the garment laid out -at ready for ironing, parts being broken out for convenience in illustration.

In the embodiment illustrated. the garment constituting this invention comprises a petticoat l and camisole 2 cut from a single piece of fabric or if the fabric'be not wide enough from connected strips united at the center of the back by afiat 'or felled' seam 3 as shown clearly in Fig. 3. At the waistline ofthe camisole and Petticoat is arranged a casing-4 extending transversely across the garment and designed to receive a draw string 6` for adjusting the garment to fit the waist of the wearer.4 The upper edge of the camisole 2 is provided with Va similar casing 5 to receive a draw string 7 so that the camisole may be adjusted to fit under the arms of the user. 2 as is ordinary with garments' of this character is made of uniform width throughout and as here shown one front edge 8 thereof is straight, while the otherV is curved as shown at 9, the lower edge thereof merging into a fiap 10 carried by one front edgel of the petticoat 1, the draw string casing 4; being also secured to this flap as is shown shown clearly in Figs. 2 and 3.

This camisole 2 is provided with the usual Shoulder straps 11 which may be of any suitablev material, either tape or ribbon and connected to the front and rear of the camisole for supporting the garment over the shoulders of the wearer.

The petticoat 1 may be of any desired length and is hemmed or bound around the bottom and side edges thereof as shown at 12, theiiiap carryin front edge 13 being designed to overlap tiie other edge as is Shown clearly in Fig. 2'. v

Two drawer legs 14 and 15 each of a single piece and cut of any desired shape to iit the wearer have their upper edges laidv fiat on the inner face of the garment at the waistline' thereof and secured under thel casing 4 by stitching shown at 16, said line of stitching operating also to secure one edge of the casing 4. These drawer legs lapv at their rear upper ends as is shown clearly in F'g. 3 and the side edges thereof are provided With separable fastening elements here shown in the form of buttons 17 andcoop- .ei'atingbutton-lioles 18 so that the legs may be opened out fiat as shown in Fig. 3 for ironing.

In the use of this garment the arms of the wearer are passed through the straps 11 with the `open portion inl front' and the draw string 6 extended through a slit 19 'formed in alinement with the straight edge 13 of the petticoat and the string 6 is passed around to the rear of the wearer and drawn to fit the waist thereof and tied in a bow as shown in F ig. l, it being understood that the buttonholes and buttons 17 and -18 have been first connected to form the completed drawer legs or they may be connected after the garment is placed on the wearer. The draw string 7 is then tightened to the desired extent and tied as shown in Fig. 2 and the garment will present the appearance shown in Figs. 1 and 2. v

The preferred embodiment of the invention is disclosed in the drawings and set forth in the specification,A but lit will be understood that any modifications within the scope of the claimed invention may be made in the construction without departing from the principle of the invention or sacrificing any of its advantages. Vhat is claimedis:

1.
