particularlyto cases designed for keeping jewelry or import-ant drawings, papers and documents which require to be safely kept, andits main, object is to provide a safety lock for cases and the like which render .the same practically as safe as the usual cash-boxes or safes.
The invention is described with reference to thefigures of the annexed drawings in which:
Fig.1 is aside elevation of the case forniing the subject matter of this invention.
Fig.2 is a side elevation showing the case inserted in a proper box or. casing therefor i Fig. is an upper plan view thereoi". Fig. 4 is an enlarged detailed side elevationof the case cover and the box containing the safety-lock mechanism.
IFig. 5 is an upper plan view thereof.
Fig. 6 is a vertical section on line 6--6 0-1: Fig. 5.
Fig. 7. is a horizontal section on line 77 of Fig. 6'.
8 is a detailed perspective view of the device used for preventing the documents and drawings kept in the case from becoming-unrolled. c
Fig. 9 is an enlarged vertical section of the lid or cover and box containing the safety-lock mechanism. c
Fig. 10 is a plan view oi the lower face of the lid or cover and box containing the safety-lock mechanism. 4 i i i Fig. 11' is a horizontal section on line 11 11 of Fig. 9. r

Fig. 13 is a horizontal seotionon line 13 13 otFig. 9.
I Fig. 14 14 -14 ofFig. 9.
Fig. 15 isa detail horizontal section, on a plane, intersecting one of the bolts 38 Fig. 16 is a similar view, showing the bolt in withdrawn position.
is a horlzontal section on line Fig. 17 is a detail perspective view of one of the bolts 38 and one of the arms 37.
In the drawingsthere is representeda case whose main body 1 consists of a hollow cylindrical tube bearing on a base 2. i The lid or cover 30f the case is mounted; on a box 41 having open ends and of cylindrical form, divided in two compartments, an upper one and a lower one 6 by a horizontal partition 7. Said cover is secured by means of screws 8, which pass through holesfin the partitlon 7 and the upperrends of the screws being threaded in shoulders 9 which project trointhe lower face of'the lid 3. The lid is provided at its upper face with a .disc having beveled edges 10 and arranged to rotate in a circular flange 11. Said disc is numbered in the usual manner. Disc 10 has a button 12 and a rectangularsection stein 13 which .isdesigned to operate in the recess piece of the safe-lock as will be hereinafter explained.
Within the upper compartment 5 of the box 4 is av flat casing of rectangular form 14, which is secured with respect-to partition 7 by means of screws 15 whichare threaded in registering holes in said partition 7.. Casing 1a is provided with a removable lid and within the same is inclosed asa fety mecha- IllSIIl constituted by discs 16 arranged one on the other each having an opening, itsarrangement and construction. being such as the usual onein this class of safe-locks, as will become evident to thoseexpert in the art. Extending through said discs is afmember 18 in which fits the stem 13 of button 12. Said member 18 is mountedin arbearing in a piece 19, provided also with an elongated sl0t 19' and with a/narrower elongated slot 19". of the casing and vertically projecting therefrom, passes through the slot 19? and is threaded to admit a screw forsecuring the lid of the casing imposition. The opposite end of piece 19 terminates in afiange which is bent down and bears against one of the edges of a side of casing 14. At one side of casing 1 1 is a horizontal slot through which passes a. bolt 22 term nating rearwardly 1n the inner part of the casing in two fork A. hollow stem 20 fixed to the bottom of arms pivoted at one end to said disc in an equidistant manner amend the vertical shaft and. articulated at their free ends with corresponding horizontal leek boits slidably mounted. through Openings in the circular Well corresponding With openings in the Wall of the box, said 1001; bolts being adapted to engage the inner slot 01 recess of the case, and connecting means between the safety mechanism. and said Fork-shaped piece to operate the latter in operating the safety niechzinisl'n.
In Witness whereof I efiix my signature. MANUEL BRETOS y CLAVERIA.
