To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JAMEs A. LDVELANI) a citizen of the United States, residing at Newport, in the county of Newport and State of Rhode Island, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Metal Stools, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to furniture and the object of the same is to provide an improved form of knock-down stool formed entirely of metal. A

With these and other objects in view, this invention resides in certain novel features of construction, combination, and arrangement of parts, as will be hereinafter more fully described and claimed and shown in the accompanying drawings wherein Figure 1 1s a vertical sectional View of the improved device.

A seat is provided with the device the same comprising a seat portion proper 12, 'a bottom leg engaging portion 13 and a band or ring 1% for retaining the same in'an assembled position.
. As is clearly shown in Fig. 1 the seat portion proper 12' is provided with a flange 15 that rests on the flange 16 of the bottom 13 and the band or ring 14 engages both of the aforementioned flanges to retain the bottom and seat portion in an assembled position.
The bottom 13 is provided with a plurality of outwardly pressed leg fasteners 17 and openings-are formed in the bottom 13 ad- .56 jacent each fastener. The legs 10 at the upper end thereof are provided with a curved lip 19, each of which is adapted for placement in one of the openings formed in the.bottom 13-and to engage the depressed portion 17 to retain the leg in connection with the bottom as shown to an advantage in Fig. 1.
Braces are provided for the legs the same including the outside braces which are desig- M nated by the numeral 19 and as is obvious engage the webs formed on the legs that are provided with a pair of apertures. Transversely extendin braces 20 are also used in connection with this invention the same engaging the webs on the braces with but one aperture and intermediate the length thereof are each bent in the opposite direction and are interlocked as clearly shown in Fig.
1 so as to prevent relative movement of the rods and thus securely retain the legs in the proper position. As is obvious all of these braces are provided with hooks at the ends thereof to allow for the detachable engagement of the same with the webs before men- 8% tioned. Feet are provided for the legs 10, each comprising a base 21 and having extending upwardly therefrom the right angularly extending'flange 22 that is of such a configuration as to snugly engage the innor face of the angle bar forming the legs and suitable means can be passed through the legs and flange 22 to retain the feet into engagement with the legs.
From the foregoing it will be seen that a w stool has been provided that is of the maximum durability and can bequickly and easily assembled. The stool is entirely collapsible and can be easily taken down for a shipping and other purposes.
It is obvious that minor changes may be made in the form and construction of this device, without departing from the ,material parts of this device. It is, therefore, not wished to confine the invention to the exact form and construction herein described and claimed, but it is wished to include all such as properly comes within the scope claimed.
