cmnns Grammar.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Oct. 25, 1921,
Application flled January 18, 192 1. 2 Serial no, 438,097.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that LtLnAn. JAsLow'," a citizen of Russia, residing at 1665 42d street, Brooklyn, New York, have invented new and useful Improvementsin Childrens Garments, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to childrens gar ments of the type usually designated combination wash suits and particularly to the trousers portion of the suit and the waist or blouse to which the trousers are attached.
There has always been a demand, and there now is a continually increasing demand for a childs garment which is so con+ structed as to enable a small child to dress itself without. assistance.
It is common knowledge that a young child can with facility button or otherwise fasten such portions of its clothes as are at the front of the body and in view. The.
difiiculty arises when the child has to reach behind its back for the fastening means. An object of my invention is to. provide a childs garment wherein all the fastening means will be conveniently arranged at the front of the body and within view of the wearer.
A further object of my invention is to provide a childs garment which is' at once attractive, comfortable and inexpensive to manufacture. v i
In accordance with my invention I make the suit in two parts so that either the waist or blouse portion, or
remaining portion. This is an advantage in connection with the laundrying of either .tion.
Fig. 2 is a rear view of a garment embodymg my invention, and. Fig. 3'is a fragmentary perspective view showing the arran ement of the elastic member 'atthe rear of t e trousers portion of the garment.
The particular arrangement or kind the trousers portion 4 thereof maybe worn independently of the trousers portion portion by means of my inven fastening-means may be varied without affecting my invention; or the buttons ,may be interchanged with buttonholes without affecting my invention.
Referring in detail to thedrawings where in similar reference characters denote similar parts throughout 10 designates the waist or blouse portion of a childs garment and 11 designates the trousers portion thereof. 12, 13 and '14 designate the usual buttons or other fastening means at the front of the ordinary childs blouse or waist, 15, 16, 17
to my invention are positioned at intervals on or near the waist band of the blouse and are fastened to the blouse portion, 15 and'16 lying on the front right side of the waist and 17 and 18 lying on t waist. V19'and 2O designate buttons which are fastened-tothe trousers portion of the garment. l f
The trousers portion 11 is provided with buttonholes 21and 22 which are so arranged at the waist band of the trousers portion that buttonhole 21 engages with button 15 of the blouse portion and buttonhole 22 engages with button 18 of the waist portion. The front of the trousers portion 11 is provided with a flap 23,; At its upper edge flap 23 is provided withbuttonholes 24, 25, 26, and 27 and at 28' and 29.
its sides with buttonholes and 18 designate buttons which according e front left side of the,
When it is desired to fasten the trousers gagement as are'buttonhole 29 and button 20. v
Buttonhole 21. of the trousers portion is brought into engagement withbutton 15 of the waist portion and buttonhble 22 of the is'brought into engagement. with button 18 of the waist portion. Buttonholes 24., 25, 26, and 27 of the flap 23 are brought into engagement with the buttons 15, 16, 17, and '18 of the blouse portion so that buttonhole 25 engages with button 15,.
buttonhole 26 engages with button 16, buttonhole 27 engages with button 17 and buttonhole 24 engages with button 18.
30 and 31 designate the right and left trousers seams respectively, between which points is located casing 32. -Within"casing 32 there is inclosed. an elastic member 33 which has its endsfastened at-points 3O 31 respectively. v c
When the garment is in position on the.
and
child tension by band 33 tends to hold the trousers portion against the body at the back. 34i'designates a loose belt.
From the above description it will be seen that my invention enables a child to get into its clothes and with facility completely arrange and fasten same Without assistance,
inasmuch as all the parts to be adjusted and all cooperative parts are arranged. at the front of the body and in view of the wearer.
Having thus. described my invention, I
1 claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent 1.
