ALLOY.
No Drawing.
T0 (ZZZ whom it may concern Be it known that I, FOSTER MILLIKEN, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Lawrence, in the county of Nassau and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Alloy, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
The object of the invention is to provide a new and improved alloy more especially designed" as a high temperature metal and being especially adapted for use in forming apparatus and devices used in handling and casting molten glass.
The alloy consists of'the following ingredients in approximately the following proportions, namely:
Iron 8 to 12 per cent. Copper 55 to 65 Nickel. 12 to 18 f Zinc 11 to 17 Silicon copper about i; to 1 Specification of Letters Patent. Application filed October 8,1919. Serial No. 329,188.
Patented Nov. 30, 1920.
other articles and devices liable to be subjected to high temperatures such as that of molten glass. The silicon of the silicon copper remains as one of the ingredients of the alloy, and the copper of the silicon copper is taken up by the principal ingredient of the alloy.
claim: An alloy consisting of the following ingredients in approximately the following proportions, namely: iron 8 to 12 per cent, copper 55 to 65 per cent., nickel 12 to 18 per cent, zinc 11 to 17 per cent, and silicon about 7} to 1 per cent.
FOSTER MILLIKEN.
