UNION-OVERALLS.

.an improvement in -mens union overalls that is in bifurcated one piece or union garments.
My invention consists in providing a means whereby additional strength and appearance are given to the garment and the garment is made more durable and attractive.
My invention relates .to union overalls provided with a drop seat, and relates to a part whereby the row of buttons along the upper or blousepart, to which this drop seat is buttoned, are concealed, and which adds to the strength of the garment and to the comfort of the wearer by performing also the functions of a belt.
I have shown my invention in the accompanying drawing, in which:
Figure 1 is a three-quarter front View of the entire garment buttoned upon a wearer;
Fig. 2 is a rear view showing the garment completely buttoned with the rear buttons indicated in dotted lines;
Fig. '3 is a rear view with the curtain which forms a feature of my device lifted and the belt unfastened; and
Fig. 4: is a side View of the parts shown in Fig. 3.
In the drawings, 1 represents a complete suit of overalls. In the rear I provide a drop seat or sanitary flap 2 adapted to be buttoned to the upper or blouse part 3 by a'row of buttons 4 secured to the part 3.
Immediately above this row of buttons I stitch a short or narrow curtain 5 by a seam 6, said seam extending across the back. At the end of said seam I provide an extra or strengthening row or bunch of stitching forming a stay 7, to prevent the belt or curtain from being ripped off. tain is of a width to com-cal conveniently the row at of buttons, and this is about the proper width for a belt.

which may serve to attach it to buttons 9, 9, at the front when the belt or curtain is turned down to proper position, or for adpistment. The front ends are left free 1n the sense that they are attached by no seam along an edge. Other securing means may be provided, of course.

It will thus be seen that I have devised a convenient, sightly, durable and novel garment, one which appeals to the esthetic as well as practical sense of the average man whose occupation entails the constant use of overalls. The belt or curtain strengthens the waistband ofthe blouse and takes some strain of the waistband of the dro seat.
' aving thus described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States, is:
1. In a union garment provided with a drop seat, there being buttonholes in the waistband thereof, buttons on the blouse part, and, in combination therewith 3. ourtain stitched to said blouse part immediately above said buttons by its upper edge across the back, said curtain being of a Width merely sufficient to conceal said buttons, and being prolonged as free ends so as to come to the front of the wearer and give the appearance of a belt, said belt being provided with stays where the free ends begin, and securing means for said belt.
2. In a union garment provided with a drop seat, there being buttonholes in the waistband thereof, buttons on the blouse part, and, in combination therewith a curtain stitched to said blouse part immediately above said buttons by its upper edge across the back, said curtain being of a width merely suiiicient to cover said but tons and give the appearance of a belt,
