CARL F. ROHWER, 01? HOT SPRINGS, ARKANSAS.
SUSPENSORY.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Feb. 18, 1919.
Application filed November 2, 1917. Serial No. 199,926.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CARL F. ROHWER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Hot Springs, in the county of Garland and State of Arkansas, have invented a new and useful Suspensory, of which the following is a specification.
It is the object of this invention to provide a means whereby a suspensory may be so mounted on the body of the wearer that the testes may hang in a natural manner, no matter whether the wearer be spare or obese, the suspensory conforming to all movements of the body, all draw and pull being eliminated, and the elasticity of the suspensory being retained, because the suspensory is not stretched or pulled out of shape.
With the foregoing and other objects in view which will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in the combination and arrangement of parts and in the details of construction hereinafter described and claimed, it being understood that changes in the precise embodiment of the invention herein disclosed, can be made within the scope of what is claimed, without departing from the spirit of the invention.
In the drawings;-
' Figure 1 is a front elevation;
Fig. 2 is a rear elevation;
Fig. 3 is a side elevation.
The device includes a belt 1, the ends of which are connected adjustably at the front by a buckle 2 orotherwise. A depending guide in the form of a loop 3 is attached to the belt 1 between the ends thereof and occu- Gopies of this patent may be obtained for pies a position at the back of the wearer, in approximately a common vertical plane with the anus. A band 4 passes slidably through the loop 3 and extends downward and forwardly across the thighs, a suspensory 5 being attached to the lower front portion of the band.
Owing to the way in which the suspensory 5 is hung, and since the band 4 passes slidably through the loop 3, the objects of the invention, as hereinbefore set forth, will be consummated.
I claim A device of the class described, comprising a body-encircling belt; a loop mounted on the rear portion of the belt; a single downwardly inclined body-encircling band slidable longitudinally in the loop; and a suspensory carried by the forward portion of the band, the loop forming the sole connec tion between the suspensory and the band upon the one hand and the belt on the other hand, and all portions of the belt and the band being independent, spaced and separate, saving those portions wherewith the loop cooperates, thereby to permit a free longitudinal movement of the band in the loop, and to permit a free vertical movement of the belt and the suspensory responsive to the movements of the wearer.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my own, I have hereto afiixed my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
CARL F. ROHWER.
