To all whom it 'mag/concern:
Be it known that I, RUDE STocKINGnR,
a citizen of the United States, and resident or Manitowoc, in the county of Manitowoc and State of Wisconsin, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Electric Vibrators; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof.
My invention relates to certain new and useful improvements in vibrating devices of that type exemplified in an a phcation filed by me May 3, 1917, Serial o. 166,107.
In most devices ofthis character now in general use, the coil becomes heated when in continuous use for any length of time and thus consuming an excessive amount of energy in yorder to provide the successful operation of the device. With this inherent objection in view, my invention has for its primary object to reduce this heating of the magnetic coil to a minimum whereby to provide a vibrator which will be economical in its consumption of electrical energy.
A further obiect resides in bending laterally certain of the lamin of the core of my device Whereb thev same is resiliently supported over its ase.
With the above and other objects in view which will appear asl the description proceeds, my invention resides in the novel construction, combination and arrangement of parts substantially as hereinafter described and more particularly defined by the appended claims, it being understood that such changes in the precise embodiment of the herein disclosed invention may be made as come within the scope of the claims.
In the accompanying drawings I have illustrated one complete example of the physical embodiment of my invention constructed according to the best mode I have so far devised for the practical application of the principles thereof, in. which:

Referring now more particularly tothe accompanying drawings, 5 designates a laminated core having certain of its lamin bent laterally as at 6 having their outer ends secured as at 7 to the outer ends of a pair of non-magnetic Supporting members 8 having their inner ends secured to a magnetic base plate to be later described. A' spool 9 sur- -rounds the core 5 and has mounted thereon .the usual magnet windings 10 and adapted Y when energized to procure vibratory movement of the magnetic body to thus exert a series of ta s upon the supporting base.
The most important feature of the present invention is in forming thesupportin base plate 11 of laminas running. 1n parael to the lamina: of the core and secured together by means of a rivet or bolt 12, a suitable work engaging lug 13 being secured to the base 11 in any desired position or manner.
As hereinbefore mentioned, the constructing of the base plate 11` with laminations running in parallel with the laminations of the core or armature 5, the coil/0,1- magnet windings 10 does not overheat as is generall the case.
rom the foregoing description taken in connection with the drawings, it will be readily understood that upon the passage ofsuccessive electric impulses through the electro-magnet, the core or armature 5 with the magnetic windings surrounding the same, will vibrate rapidly and thus exert a series of taps upon the base 11 as will be obvious to those skilled in the art to which an invention of this character appertains.
I claim:
l. A vibrator comprising a magnetic base plate composed of laminas secured together by a binding rivet, spaced non-magnetic supporting members having' their inner ends rrfixed to the base plate, a laminated core having certain of its lamin bentlaterally and secured to said supporting members, whereby the c ore is resiliently supported between the supports, and magnet windings surrounding the core, substantially as described.
