Be it known that I, VICTOR GUINZBURG, a citizen of the United States, and a resident oi the city, county, and State of New York, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Bathing-Caps, of which the following is a speciiication.

This invention has reference to bathing caps and has for its object to produce an article of this character which will thoroughly protect the hair and ears from the moisture and which will be pleasing and artistic in appearance.

With these objects, and other objects which may hereinafter appear, in View, I have devised the combination of parts hereafter disclosed and more particularly pointed out in the claims appended hereto.

In the preferred embodiment of my invention as disclosed in the accompanying drawing, 1 indicates the body of the cap which may be orP the configuration disclosed, or of any other desire-d outline.

This body 1 is preterably of rubber or of any desired waterproof material and is suitably reinforced at its edge by an outer reinforcing strip L and an inner strip 3.

At the sides of the body 1 and depending downwardly therefrom are the ear flaps 4 which are in the form of expansible elastic bags or pouches to allow the same to conform closely to the contour of the ear and to prevent the entry of moisture.

and embracing the pouch-like ear flaps 4, are elastic straps 5. These straps 5 form loops and contract the ear flaps t closely about the ear so that the entry of moisture is at all times prevented. It is to be noted that these straps 5 depend downwardly from the edge of the body 1 in such a manner that they are within the periphery of the edge of the cap and thus hold the ear iaps from bulging' or projecting to any great extent thus providing a very practical as well as a pleasing and attractive cap.

. From the' foregoing itis obvious that my invention is not to be restricted to the exact embodiment herein shown but is broad enough to cover all structures coming within the scope of the annexed claims.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim is l 1. An article of the class described, having a body portion and la pair of downwardly depending expansible ear llaps se-l cured thereto.

2. An article of the class described, having a body portion, a pair of downwardly depending expansible ear flaps .secured thereto and expansible loops extending Vdownwardly from the body portion and secured to the flaps.

3. An article of the class described hav- Ving` a body portion, a pair of downwardly depending pouch like ear flaps secured thereto and expansible loops extending downwardly from the body portion and embracing the ear flaps and secured thereto.

et. An article of the class described having a body portion, a pair of downwardly depending ear flaps secured thereto and expansible loops secured to the body portionv within the periphery of its edge, extending downwardly and embracing the ear Haps and secured to the same.
