SIGN-RACK.
Specification of Lettersilatent.
Patented nee. 15, 191i.
Application filedfiune 10, 1314. Serial No. 844,179.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JAMns E. GAssoN, a
citizen of the United Statespand a resident ,of Kenton, in the county of Hardin and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Sign-Racks, of.
which the following is a specification.
A furtherobject is to .jtirovide such devices which will be substantially invisible at comparatively inexpensive.
he front thereof; and further objects are to provide such racks which areslmple in constructlon and use, capable of considerable latitude of adjustment, well adapted to the purpose for which they are designed, and
My invention is fully'described in lowing specification, of which the accompanying drawings form a part, in which the separate parts are designated by the same reference characters in each of the views, and inwhich-: I a
Figure 1 is a front view of',my invention, with a card indicated thereon in dotted lines; Fig. 2 is a side view thereof; Fig. 3
i is a plan section approximately onthe line 3-3 of Fig. 1; Fig. iis a section taken on the line 4 of Fig. 1; and Fig. ,5 isa plan section taken on the line 55 of Fig. 1.
In the drawings forming a part of this application I have shown a present preferred form of embodiment of my invention, comprising a standard a arrangedqon' a base .6, said standard having a vertical slot 64 from front to rear, adjacent the lower end thereof,an d in which is a slidably movable block 0 transversely slotted at its top, as shown at 0 Fig; '2, and adjust ably locked at any point in said slot 4 by means of a threaded bolt 0 and wing-nut 0 this forming a bottom clip for thecard indicated by dotted lines at v The upper end of the standard a. is slotted, from side to side, as shown at a and provided with a threaded bolt a and wingthe folnut a to clamp two transversely slidable arms a! and 6 within. said standard, thearm (Z having a longitudlnal groove (Z along its face adjacent to the arm 6 and said arm 6 being provided with a tongue 6 resting in and slidable in the grooved? and said arms have, each, aforwardly directed lug d and 6 respectively, having, each, a groove (Z and in the vertical plane of the slot or groove 0 in the adjustable block 0, and it will be seen that either or bothiof the arms cl and 6 may be adjusted with respect to the standard a by merely loosening the wing-nut a and the tightening thereof again locks and the card arranged in the corresponding arm grooves d and a the wing-nuta tightened and the rack and card are ready for display, but the card may just as readily be arranged well to one side of the standard, if desired, to meet conditions, as in a showwindow. It will thus be seen that a considerable variation of sizes of cards may be accommodated in any one size of my rack, and the card may be arranged in any desired position with respect to the rack, and it will be noted that the only partof the rack that shows from the front is the block 0, although a small portion of the arm ends are also visible but in minor degree, it being assumed that the standard is placed back of the goods being displayechthereby and. eff, respectively, vertically arranged,
not detracting from the matter on the card .or the design thereon, or its attractiveness.
While I have shown a present preferred two interengaged, horizontallyslidable',card V In testimonyiwh'ereof I have signed my holding arms arranged between said memname to this specification in thepresence of bers, said slot belng enlarged to prov de a the subscrlblng W1tnesses..
passage therefor, means for clamping said 5 members together to 100K said arms against Witnesses: V we movement, and a card clip at thelower end S. T. GARRET SQN,
of said standard. I CHAsfHiLL;
Copies of this patent may be obtained 01 five cents each, by-addressing the Commissioner of ratents,
