county and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Garment, of which the following is a full. clear. and exact description.

The invention relates to woniens wearing apparel, and its object :is to. provide a new and improved garment' which combines an apron, wrapper and street dress, and can be readily converted from one to the other.

In order to accomplish the desired result use is ma-de of a skirt, a jacket or waist connected with the sides and back of the said skirt and having front fiaps adapted to overlap and to be fastened together, a front apron flap extending integrally from the front of the skirt, and fastening devices for fastening the said apron flap to the jacket Haps exteriorly or underneath the saine.

A practical embodiment of the invention is represented iii the accompanying drawings forming a part of this specification, in which similar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the views.

Figure l is a. front perspective view of the garment worn asa dress land apron; Fig. 2 is a like view of the same, with the apron flap disconnected from the jacket and hanging down; Fig. 3 is asimilar view of thev same showing the jacket open and the apron fla in position to be fastened to the under sidls of the jacket flaps; Fig. 4 is a similar View of the same with the parts in position to form a dress; Fig. 5 is a rear perspective view of the garment with the parts in position to form a Wrapper; and Figs. 6 and 7 are face views of the parts for forming the skirt, jacket and apron flap.

The garment ia its general construction is preferably formed of two pieces. shown in Figs. 6 and 7, shaped and fastened together to form a skirt A, a jacket or Waist B and an apron flap C. The lower portions of the two ieces are joined at the sides to forni the srirt A, and the jacket B extends integrally upward from the back piece while the lapron Hap C extends integrally upward from the front piece. The jlacket B is open at the front to form overlapping front flaps B', B2 adapted t0 be fastened together. by a fastening device D such as a button and buttonhole. The apron flap C is adapted to overlie the' front flaps B', B2. of the jacket or waist, as shown in F ig. 1, or the said apron flap C extends underneath the said iaps B', B2, as indicated in Figs. 3 and fi. For the purpose.4 mentioned the ilaps B' and B2 of the jacket or waist B are provided at their upper portions with outside buttons E, E and inside buttons E2, E3, of which either set can be engaged by buttonholes E4, E5 formed in the upper portion of the apron tlapC. Thus the apron Hap C can -be fastened to the front aps B', B2 of the jacket so that the apron flap C overlies the front flaps B' and B2, as shown in Fig. l, or extends underneath the front flaps B', B2, as indicated in Figs. and 4.

The front flaps B' and B2 of the jacket or waist B have their lower side corners B3, B* detached from the back portion of the jacket or waist, and the said corners are adapted to be fastened to the skirt A byl fastening devices such as buttons F and buttonholes F', it beinnr understood that the -said corners B3, B* overlie the upper portion of the skirt A at the time the apron' Hap.

Fig. 5, or at the back of the wearer underneath the back of the garment so that the garment serves as a street dress, as indicated 1n Fig. 4. It is understood that when the tying bands G, G' are' tied on the back of the garment, as shown in Fig. l, the said bands extend through the slit formed by the corners B3, B4 with the back of the waist or jacket B;

The front aps B', B2 are provided with darts B5 directly under the bust portion of the jacket or waist to give the proper shape to the same.

From the foregoing it will be seen that the garmentshown and described is very simple in construction and can be readily converted to permit the user to wear the garment as an apron, wrapper or street dress. Although we have shown and described a skirt having an integral jacket or waist it is evident that the invention applies to similar garments and hence we do not limit ourselves to jackets or waists. i
