The garment is provided With overlapping yet open construction to form the Hy. The edges of the back dep also overlap at the slut: slits.

A row of buttons or other fastening means is provided across the back on the upper flap, shown at it. llfhile I have shown buttong,- on one portion of the garment and buttonholes on the other, it is evident that the positions of the two, which make up the fastening means, may be reversed, or other suitable fastening means may be use d in place of buttons and buttonholes.

It desired, by means of the several rows of fastening means provided in the Waist band 4of the seat flap, the position of the garment 1,1 idees .description is exemplary and that changes may be made in the details thereof, and also that the invention may be otherwise and variously embodied Without departing from its spirit or its scope as defined in the subjoined claims.

The invention is not restricted as to details except as these are definitely expressed in the claims considered severally.

Having now described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:

l. A union suit comprising a body prtion and leg portions, having a vertical slit at each side from a point adj aeentto the arm to a point adjacent to the hip, and the back provided With two oppositely extending flaps which are secured one to the other and to the main portion of the garment adjacent to the side slits as described.

2. A union suit comprising an integral front and a slitted back, the slits being arranged at each side thereof up and down the body of the wearer :from a point adjacent the arm to a point adjacent the hip, across the garment from hip to hip, said slits forming 'an opening situated entirely in the rear of the garment, to form a back flap, a seat Hap, each of the flaps being separated Afrom each other at the medial line, and fastening means on the flaps for detach-ably securing .the one to the other, the said flaps when closed coveringthe said opening through which the body of the wearer is inserted to place the garment thereupon. l
