The invention relates to metal forming and can be used at cold rolling sheet steel, nonferrous metals and alloys in metallurgy and metalworking industry. In a method of cold rolling thin strips deformation in three first passes is carried out with increasing mode of relative reduction of 8.6 % to 14.9 %, in the fourth pass the relative reduction is set to 7.5 %, in the last two passes relative reduction is set to 11,9 % and 8.0 % respectively. The invention provides for obtaining rolled metal of strictly rectilinear shape with uniform mirror surface.
