Abstract
The invention relates to metalurgy. A method involves loading ferrous material, fluxes, fuel, melt blowing with oxygen through the central tuyere. What is new is that for cost savings hot iron agglomerate is used as ferrous material instead of hot metal and scrap metal. The main part of the fuel, such as power station coal, and fluxes is loaded into the converter in composition with iron ore agglomerate, and an additional amount of power station coal and fluxes for the adjustment of the chemical composition of the converter bath is supplied through the flux handling system.
