Abstract

The invention relates to ferrous metallurgy, in particular to the method for steel smelting in hearth steelmaking vessels, and can be used for the manufacture of the open-hearth steel. A method provides laying of 10-20 % of total quantity of iron-carbon brickettes under the second bed of the scrap metal in the on the surface of limestone, disposed on the first bed of the scrap metal. Other 80-90 % of iron-carbon brickettes are added in the furnace central zone between the second and the third layers of the scrap metal. The iron-carbon brickettes have the following composition, wt. %: iron ore concentrate - 50-70, carbon containing reducing agent - 16-17, limestone flux - 3-5, liquid glass - 3-4, steel melting solids is the rest. The consumption of iron-carbon brickettes in the charging is taken at the level of 100- per1 t of steel.
