The invention relates to ferrous metallurgy. A cast iron for forming rolls contains, w/w: carbon – 2.8-3.2, silicon – 1.5-2.5, manganese – 0.4-0.6, chromium – 0.3-0.5, nickel – 0.8-1.2, copper – 0.8-1.5, vanadium – 0.15-0.30, yttrium – 0.05-0.15, cerium – 0.04-0.08 and iron – the rest. The invention allows to produce cast iron for forming rolls with increased characteristics of heat resistance and extension strain and also decreased modulus of elasticity.
