Abstract

The invention relates to the metallurgy. A method of manufacturing continuously cast blanks on a continuous casting machine (CCM) of curvilinear type includes forming in ingot mould of surface layer of ingot, extraction of the ingot from ingot mould and extraction of the blank from the ingot, while partially crystallized curvilinear ingot, in the lowest point of the trajectory of its movement is directed along the circle with a radius equal to the radius of CCM, and then the ingot is moulded into a helical spiral, which has a radius smaller than the radius of CCM, and the ingot is moulded into a cylindrical spiral with temperature close to the crystallization temperature of the metal. The invention allows to made an overlong workpiece with appropriate mechanical properties.
