Abstract

The proposed method for differentially testing quality of accumulator electrode blocks in the process of assembly of accumulator batteries at an automatic transfer line consists in applying stable voltage to the pole terminals of an electrode block from an external voltage source, measuring the current flowing through the electrode block, and determining the conductivity of the electrode block. The monitoring is accomplished in a number of cycles. Within the first cycle, the conductivity is measured at a voltage of 5 à 30 V for 0.005 à 0.3 s, within the second cycle - at a voltage of 300 à 600 V for 0.005 à 0.3 s, within the third cycle - at a voltage of 1000 à 1700 V for 0.005 à 0.1 s, and within the fourth cycle - under voltage of 2000 à 4000 V for 0.002 à 0.005 s. Aditionally, for determining moisture content in a dry charged accumulator, the electromotive force of the accumulator is measured accross the pole terminals for 0.005 ... 0.3 s. The proposed method allows defects of accumulators to be detected at the testing stage.
