Abstract

This invention relates to a technology for providing information about monetary benefits associated with membership and services. An electronic device in one embodiment of the invention may include a communication circuit, one or more processors, and one or more memories. The one or more processors determine whether a user corresponding to a user terminal is a member who has registered for membership. If the user is not a member who has registered for membership, the processors determine one or more monetary benefits that the user would have enjoyed if they had registered for membership based on the user's purchase history. The user terminal is then provided with a first page including a first area displaying first information related to the one or more monetary benefits identified.

This invention relates to a technology for providing information on monetary benefits associated with membership and services.

Under the membership system associated with the service, various benefits are offered to members who have joined the membership. Savings from joining the membership are not displayed to users who have not previously joined. Furthermore, on the product details page for the service, coupons and offers are presented separately, requiring users to select coupons and offers separately. Furthermore, users who have not previously joined the membership are not offered the opportunity to experience the content provided, and the membership-related content is not displayed separately on the purchase completion page for non-members.

In one embodiment, the one or more processors may determine the second monetary benefits, each of which corresponds to one or more monetary benefits of joining the membership when purchasing the specific product, and the fifth information includes information related to the second monetary benefits.

In one embodiment, when the user is not a member who has signed up for membership, the first page may include a fourth area that displays information related to the free trial offer provided by the content.

In one embodiment, the method may further include the following action: if input is obtained from the user terminal for at least a portion of the first area, a pop-up window or a second page including a second area is provided, wherein the second area displays additional second information related to the one or more financial offers.

In one embodiment, the method may further include the following actions: determining the maximum cost savings based on one or more monetary benefits of joining the membership when purchasing a specific product; obtaining a command from the user terminal to call the fourth page related to detailed information of the specific product; and in response to the command to call the fourth page, providing the user terminal with the fourth page including the third area when the user is not a member who has joined the membership, wherein the third area displays the fifth information of the maximum cost savings of the specific product.

In one embodiment, the above method may further include the following actions: determining the maximum cost savings based on one or more monetary benefits of joining the above membership when purchasing specific products; and when the above user who completes the purchase of the above specific products is not a member who has joined the membership, providing the above user terminal with a sixth page including a fifth area, wherein the fifth area displays the above maximum cost savings of the above specific products and a prompt of the following content, namely, if the above membership is completed within a preset specific time, the above one or more monetary benefits can be applied retroactively.

One embodiment of the present invention relates to a non-transitory computer-readable recording medium that stores a program for execution on a computer. The program may include executable commands that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform the following actions: confirm whether a user corresponding to a user terminal is a member who has registered for membership; if the user is not a member who has registered for membership, determine one or more financial benefits that the user would have enjoyed if he had registered for membership based on the user's purchase history; and provide the user terminal with a first page including a first area displaying first information related to the one or more financial benefits determined. FIG1 is a diagram illustrating an information processing system 100 including an electronic device 110 according to an embodiment of the present invention. The information processing system 100 may include the electronic device 110 and a user terminal 120. The electronic device 110 and the user terminal 120 may communicate with each other via a network connection.

Electronic device 110 may be a device used to manage a service website. For example, the service may include an e-commerce service that enables online purchase and sale of goods. Electronic device 110 may create various information as web pages on the website and provide them to user terminal 120. Specifically, electronic device 110 may be a device that provides user terminal 120 with various information related to the sale of goods.

Electronic device 110 can confirm whether the user corresponding to user terminal 120 is a member who has enrolled in the membership. Users can enroll in the membership by meeting certain pre-defined conditions, such as paying a membership enrollment fee or maintenance fee. Membership enrollment can be performed on a per-user basis, and service-related membership benefits are only available to user accounts that have completed membership enrollment. For example, membership benefits can be related to the purchase of items, including providing convenience, price advantages, or other additional services.

The user terminal 120 can be a device used by users to purchase items through an e-commerce website. The user terminal 120 can be implemented as a terminal capable of transmitting and receiving various types of information with the electronic device 110 via a network. For example, the user terminal 120 can be a computer, a laptop, a portable communication terminal (such as a smartphone), a portable multimedia device, a wearable device, or an HMD (Head Mounted Display). However, the type of user terminal 120 is not limited to this. The user terminal 120 can be any device that includes an input/output interface that allows the user to input information or output information to the user, and can communicate with the electronic device 110 or other devices via a network.

User terminal 120 can provide information received from electronic device 110 to the user and can receive input from the user and transmit it to electronic device 110. Input received from the user can include various forms of input, such as clicks using a mouse, touches using a touchpad or touchscreen, voice recognition, and other electronic input. FIG2 is a block diagram of an electronic device 200 according to an embodiment of the present invention. In one embodiment, the electronic device 200 may include a communication circuit 210, one or more processors 220, and/or one or more memories 230 as components. In one embodiment, at least one of the components of the electronic device 200 may be omitted, or other components may be added to the electronic device 200. In one embodiment, a portion of the components may be additionally or alternatively integrated to implement the electronic device 200, or as a single or multiple entities. In the present invention, one or more processors 220 may be referred to as a processor 220. Unless otherwise expressly stated, the term processor 220 may refer to a collection of one or more processors. In the present invention, one or more memories 230 may be referred to as memory 230. Unless otherwise specified, the memory 230 may refer to a collection of one or more memories. In one embodiment, at least a portion of the internal/external components of the electronic device 200 are connected to each other via a bus, GPIO (General Purpose Input/Output), SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface), or MIPI (Mobile Industry Processor Interface), thereby enabling the transmission and reception of information (data, signals, etc.).

The communication circuit (210) can communicate with the user terminal. The communication circuit 210 can implement wireless or wired communication between the electronic device 200 and the user terminal. For example, the communication circuit 210 can implement eMBB (enhanced Mobile Broadband), URLLC (Ultra Reliable Low-Latency Communications), MMTC (Massive Machine Type Communications), LTE (Long-Term Evolution), LTE-A (LTE Advance), NR (New Radio), UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications System), GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications), CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access), WCDMA (Wideband CDMA), WiBro (Wireless Broadband), WiFi (Wireless Fidelity), Bluetooth, NFC (Near Field Communication), GPS (Global Communication circuit 210 can implement wireless communication via methods such as a Global Positioning System (GPS) or a GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System). Processor 220 can drive software (e.g., commands, programs, etc.) to control at least one component of electronic device 200 connected to processor 220. Furthermore, processor 220 can perform various operations related to the present invention, such as computing, processing, data generation, and processing. Furthermore, if a user has previously joined a membership, coupons or points awarded based on membership may have been used during the checkout process. Processor 220 may determine the savings a user could have received through exclusive membership discounts and/or shipping fee or return shipping fee discounts or exemptions as monetary benefits that the user would have enjoyed had they previously joined the membership. Furthermore, processor 220 may determine the amount a user has paid for previously purchased merchandise and utilized the shortened delivery service as a monetary benefit that would have been available had they previously joined the membership. Furthermore, if a user has previously paid for an amount exceeding the amount corresponding to coupons or points awarded in connection with membership, processor 220 may determine the amount corresponding to the coupons or points as a monetary benefit that would have been available had they previously joined the membership. In one embodiment, membership may provide the user with the benefit of free access to additional services, such as content provision services. In this case, if there is a history of the user paying fees and utilizing additional services that were previously available for free as a member, the processor 220 may determine the fees paid for the additional services as a monetary benefit that the user would have enjoyed had he or she previously joined the membership.

In one embodiment, the processor 220 may calculate the total amount of monetary benefits that the user would have enjoyed if they had joined the membership before a specific period based on the user's purchase history. For example, the processor 220 may calculate the total amount of expenses that the user could have saved through exclusive discounts offered by the membership, shipping fees, expenses that could have been saved through discounts or waivers on return shipping fees, expenses that could have been saved through free services that shorten delivery times, expenses that could have been saved through coupons or points provided in conjunction with the membership, and expenses that could have been saved through free additional services provided in conjunction with the membership, such as content provision services. At this time, the first information displayed in the first area included in the first page may include information on the total amount of monetary benefits that the user can enjoy if he joins the membership before a specific period.

Memory 230 can store various information (data). Information stored in memory 230 is information obtained, processed, or used by at least one component of electronic device 200 and may include software (e.g., commands, programs, etc.). Memory 230 may include volatile and/or non-volatile memory. In the present invention, commands or programs are software stored in memory 230 and may include an operating system, applications, and/or middleware used to control the resources of electronic device 200. Such middleware provides various functions to applications so that the applications can utilize the resources of electronic device 200. In one embodiment, the memory 230 may store commands that cause the processor 220 to perform operations when executed by the processor 220. The memory 230 may also store at least a portion of information received from a user terminal via the communication circuit 210 and/or information transmitted to a user terminal via the communication circuit 210. The processor 220 may store at least a portion of information received from a user terminal via the communication circuit 210 and/or information transmitted to a user terminal via the communication circuit 210 in the memory 230. The memory 230 may store information related to the membership system (e.g., information related to membership benefits, information related to fees required for membership, historical information on membership users utilizing membership benefits, etc.) and/or information related to the user's purchase history. The information related to the membership system and/or the user's purchase history may be updated.

Hereinafter, the operations performed by the electronic device described in FIG. 3 to FIG. 10 may be understood to be performed by the processor 220 of the electronic device 200 described in FIG. 2 .

FIG3 is a diagram showing a first page 300 provided by an electronic device according to an embodiment of the present invention. The first page 300 may be the first page displayed after executing an application. The first page 300 shown may be the first page corresponding to a smartphone. However, when the user terminal is a computer, laptop, or other device, the first page 300 may be in the form of a PC version (Personal Computer version) of a web page corresponding to the device and may include a first area 301 displaying first information related to one or more financial benefits that the user may have enjoyed in the past by becoming a member. In this case, the first page 300 may be the homepage of the service. The electronic device can confirm the type of the user terminal and provide the first page 300 to the user terminal in different forms according to the confirmed type of the user terminal.

The first area 301 may display first information related to one or more monetary benefits that the user previously enjoyed by becoming a member. For example, the phrase "Ms./Mr. ABC, you can save an additional 9,000 Korean Won compared to now" may be displayed in the first area 301 to indicate first information related to one or more monetary benefits that the user previously enjoyed by becoming a member. Here, the 9,000 Korean Won monetary benefit may be a value determined based on the user's purchase history. In one embodiment, if the user has no past purchase history, the first area 301 may not be displayed on the first page 300.

In one embodiment, the first area 301 may further include a marker that indicates that additional information about a monetary offer is displayed when at least a portion of the first area 301 receives an input, such as a touch or click. For example, as shown in the figure, the marker indicating that additional information about the monetary offer is displayed when an input is received may include a downward-pointing arrow. In other examples not shown, the marker indicating that additional information about the monetary offer is displayed when an input is received may include a phrase such as "Learn More."

FIG4 is a diagram showing a pop-up window 400 including a second area 401 provided by an electronic device according to one embodiment of the present invention. In one embodiment, upon receiving input from a user terminal regarding at least a portion of the first area, the electronic device may provide a pop-up window 400 including a second area or a second page (not shown) displaying additional second information related to one or more financial offers. This figure illustrates an embodiment of providing a pop-up window 400 including a second area 401. In this case, the pop-up window 400 may be displayed over the previously displayed first page. The portion of the first page displayed behind the pop-up window 400 may appear darker due to the adjusted transparency.

In one embodiment, the electronic device may identify one or more financial benefits that the user would enjoy if he or she joined the membership before one or more specific periods based on the user's purchase history. Pop-up window 400 or the second page may include one or more second icons 403 corresponding to the one or more specific periods. The second information may include information about the one or more financial benefits corresponding to the specific period corresponding to the icon selected from the one or more second icons 403. For example, the currently selected second icon among one or more second icons 403 (e.g., the icon corresponding to the period "1 month") can be highlighted differently from the currently unselected second icons (e.g., the icons corresponding to the periods "3 months" and "6 months"). The selection of the second icon 403 can be input by touching or clicking on the user's terminal. The longer the specific period corresponding to the second icon 403, the more or less monetary benefits displayed in the second area 401 will become the same or larger. Based on the second area 401, the user can understand that if they join the membership before the various periods, they can enjoy one or more monetary benefits.

In one embodiment, the electronic device may determine first monetary benefits corresponding to at least a portion of one or more monetary benefits that a user would have enjoyed had they previously signed up for membership. The second information displayed in the second area 401 may include information related to the first monetary benefits. For example, the electronic device may determine the first monetary benefits available during a specific period corresponding to each of the second icons 403. The first monetary benefits may be determined to correspond to the one or more benefits offered upon signing up for membership. For example, the first monetary benefits may include at least a portion of membership-exclusive discounts, shipping fees, free or reduced return shipping fees, services that shorten delivery times, content provision services, and coupons or points earned based on membership. The second area 401 may include a label for each monetary benefit (e.g., -5,000 Korean Won) and phrases instructing each benefit (e.g., "Rocket Shipping, Free Returns on Products," "WOW Member Exclusive Additional Discount," "WOW Member Exclusive Coupon Discount"). The second area 401 may further include the following content, which indicates that the benefits provided based on membership may include benefits that cannot be converted into monetary benefits (for example: "This content only includes a portion of the benefits that can be converted into monetary amounts.").

In one embodiment, the pop-up window 400 or the second page may include a first icon 402 that indicates movement to a third page related to membership registration. If input is received from the user terminal for the first icon 402, the electronic device may provide the third page to the user terminal. The first icon 402 may display a sentence indicating membership registration (for example, "Start saving money today with a WOW membership"). If input such as a touch or click is received for the first icon 402, the user terminal may transmit a signal requesting the third page related to membership registration to the electronic device. Furthermore, the user terminal may display the third page received from the electronic device.

Figure 5 illustrates a third page 500 provided by an electronic device according to one embodiment of the present invention. In one embodiment, the third page 500 related to membership enrollment may be a page that provides information about membership benefits and, based on additional user input, allows the user to add a user account to the membership. For example, the third page 500 may include a page for entering a payment method, or a page for transitioning to an intermediate step within the aforementioned page. The payment method may be used to pay a membership enrollment fee or maintenance fee.

If page 3 500 is a page that is an intermediate step in moving to a page for entering a payment method, and the payment method is used to pay a membership enrollment fee or maintenance fee, it may include an icon 501 indicating movement to a page for entering a payment method. A phrase indicating membership enrollment (e.g., "Checkout and Join") may be displayed within icon 501 indicating movement to a page for entering a payment method. The fourth page 600 may be a page related to detailed information of a specific product. In one embodiment, the electronic device may determine a maximum saving (e.g., 6,300 won) based on one or more monetary benefits of membership when purchasing a specific product. The electronic device may receive a command from the user terminal to call the fourth page 600. In response to the command to call the fourth page 600, the electronic device may provide the user terminal with the fourth page 600 including the third area 601 displaying the fifth information of the maximum saving of the specific product when the user is not a member who has joined the membership.

An electronic device that provides information about membership benefits associated with a service, comprising: a communication circuit that communicates with a user terminal; one or more processors; and one or more memories that store commands that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations; the one or more processors are as follows: confirming and Whether the user corresponding to the above user terminal is a member who has joined the membership qualification.
