Abstract

A deformation-resistant plastic pivot shaft comprises a cover, a base and a pivot unit. The cover is provided with a pivot part, and an axial hole is penetrated at each axial end of the pivot part. The base forms a notch corresponding to the position of the pivot part, and a through hole is penetrated at both sides of the notch and respectively corresponding to the position of each axial hole. The pivot unit comprises two pivot shafts, which are generally solid cylinders, and each pivot shaft is respectively provided with a split groove. Each pivot shaft is inserted into each through hole and each shaft hole. Each slot can provide a margin space for each pivot shaft when it is heated and shrunk, so its diameter will hardly change. Therefore, there will be no gap between each pivot shaft and each shaft hole. When the cover is opened, a certain friction force can be generated between the cover and the surface of each pivot shaft, so that the cover can be maintained at any angle when opened without falling toward the base, thereby improving the convenience of use.

Deformation-resistant plastic hinge

The present invention relates to a plastic hinge, and in particular to a deformation-resistant plastic hinge.

According to the information, the cosmetic box commonly used has a plastic cover and a base. The cover and the base are respectively provided with hinge holes and are connected by a metal pin. Usually, consumers directly hand over the entire cosmetic box for recycling after use. However, due to the difference in materials, the recycling company must first remove the pin and recycle it separately. It cannot be recycled together with the plastic cover and base to avoid damage to the recycling equipment, which also causes trouble for the recycling company.

In view of this, the applicant has developed a plastic nail pivotally mounted on the cover and base of a cosmetic box and its application to address the above shortcomings. The above metal nail is replaced with a nail made of plastic. Since the nail, the cover and the base are all made of plastic, they can be recycled together to solve the recycling problem.

However, the volume of plastic pins is easily increased or decreased due to temperature changes. When the temperature is high, the volume of the pins expands, and the hinge holes that penetrate the cover and the base are enlarged by the pins. When the temperature returns to normal, the volume of the pins returns to its original state, but the hinge holes have been enlarged and shaped, so there will be a gap between the pins and the hinge holes, and they cannot generate effective friction with the cover, resulting in the cover being unable to maintain any specific angle when opened, causing inconvenience in use.

Therefore, based on many years of experience in manufacturing, developing and designing related products, the applicant has developed a deformation-resistant plastic hub after detailed design and careful evaluation for the above-mentioned goal, which can completely solve or effectively improve many of the shortcomings of the conventional use.

The invention discloses a deformation-resistant plastic pivot shaft, which comprises a cover body, a pivot part extending downwardly from one side of the periphery of the cover body, and an axial hole is respectively formed at two axial ends of the pivot part; a base, which can be matched with the cover body, and a notch is formed at the periphery of the base corresponding to the position of the pivot part, and a through hole is respectively formed on both sides of the notch and corresponding to the position of each of the axial holes, and each of the through holes is connected to each of the axial holes. A hinge unit, the hinge unit includes two hinge shafts, the hinge shafts are made of plastic material and are solid cylinders, each hinge shaft is respectively provided with a slot, wherein the depth of the slot is extended from the periphery of the hinge shaft toward the center thereof, and the width of the slot is expanded outward from the center of the hinge shaft toward both sides, each hinge shaft is penetrated in each through hole and each shaft hole, so that the cover body is hinged on the base.

Through the above structure, the advantages of the present invention are as follows:

1. Anti-deformation effect: Each of the pivot shafts of the present invention is provided with a respective slot, which can provide a margin space for each pivot shaft when it is heated and shrunk, so its diameter will hardly be affected by thermal expansion and contraction, so there will be no gap between each pivot shaft and each through hole and each shaft hole, so that the cover can be maintained at any angle after opening without falling toward the base, improving the convenience of use.

2. Wide applicability: Since the dimensions of each hinge shaft are equivalent to the commonly used metal pins, they can be directly applied to the hinge between the lid and the base of the existing cosmetic case, and the nailing machine originally used for metal pins can be used for push-nail assembly, without the need to develop a new nailing machine. Therefore, the plastic hinge shaft of the present invention has wide applicability.

Please refer to Figures 1 to 6, which disclose a deformation-resistant plastic hinge shaft, which includes:

A cover 10, a pivot portion 11 extending downwards on one side of the periphery of the cover 10, an axial hole 111 is respectively formed at both axial ends of the pivot portion 11, a first buckle portion 12 extending downwards on the other side of the periphery of the cover 10, and a first receiving groove 13 is provided at the bottom of the cover 10, and the first receiving groove 13 is provided to accommodate a mirror 14.

Referring to FIG. 2 and FIG. 3 , each of the pivot shafts 31 of the present invention is provided with the split groove 32. Each of the split grooves 32 can provide a margin space for each of the pivot shafts 31 during thermal expansion and contraction, thereby preventing each of the pivot shafts 31 from changing in volume due to thermal expansion and contraction at different temperatures. Therefore, the diameter thereof will hardly change, and thus each of the through holes 211 and each of the shaft holes 111 will not be enlarged. There will be no gap between the cover 10 and each of the through holes 211 and the shaft holes 111, so that the cover 10 can be maintained at any angle after opening without falling toward the base 20, which improves the convenience of use. In addition, the design of each slot 32 can improve the telescopic performance of each hinge shaft 31, making it easier for each hinge shaft 31 to be inserted into each of the through holes 211 and the shaft holes 111.

In the above, each of the pivot shafts 31 is designed with each of the slots 32 to achieve the effect of anti-deformation.

It is worth mentioning that, when assembling the lid and the base of a conventional cosmetic box, a nailing machine (not shown) is used to push a metal pin into the hinge hole fixed to the lid and the base, so that the lid is hinged to the base. The size of each hinge shaft 31 of the present invention is less than 3.5 mm in diameter, and can directly replace the smaller metal pins of the conventional size. Therefore, when the lid 10 and the base 20 are assembled, the nailing machine can be used. The machine pushes each pivot shaft 31 into each through hole 211 and each shaft hole 111 to complete the assembly, and there is no need to make another new nailing machine. Therefore, the plastic pivot shaft of the present invention has a wide range of applicability. Since the size of the pivot shafts 31 is relatively small, the structural size of the joint between the pivot shafts 31 and the cover 10 and the base 20 does not need to be too large, which improves the overall aesthetics and can be applied to most cosmetic boxes on the market.

In summary, this invention has excellent advancement and practicality among similar products. At the same time, after searching domestic and foreign technical data on this type of structure, no similar structure has been found in the literature. Therefore, this invention has the patent requirements and is filed in accordance with the law.

However, the above is only a preferred feasible embodiment of the present invention, so any equivalent structural changes made by applying the present invention specification and the scope of patent application should be included in the patent scope of the present invention.
