Abstract

A golf club head includes a club head body, a striking panel disposed on the club head body, and at least one elastic body. The club head body defines an internal space and a groove connected to the internal space. The striking panel is located outside the groove along a hitting direction. The at least one elastic body is disposed in the groove. The at least one elastic body can suppress high rebound at low ball speed to avoid exceeding the measurement specification of the rebound value, and does not excessively reduce the rebound at high ball speed to pursue a high rebound value within the specification. At the same time, the present invention can control the rebound value by adjusting the at least one elastic body during the manufacturing process.

Description

Golf Club Head

The present invention relates to a golf club head, and in particular to a golf club head capable of adjusting the anti-launch characteristic.

The kickback value is also called the CT value (Characteristic Time). It is measured by using a testing machine to measure the elasticity of the golf club head by the contact time between the iron ball and the striking surface (in milliseconds). A higher kickback value can increase the initial velocity of the ball after hitting it, thereby increasing the flight distance of the ball. Therefore, it is one of the key points for consumers when choosing a club. At the same time, the kickback value of golf club heads is also regulated (usually 257 milliseconds) in golf competitions for restriction. Under the tension between consumer demand and regulatory restrictions, how to adjust and limit the kickback value has become an important issue for golf club head manufacturers. The most common designs currently are to set ribs between the striking surface and the body of the ball head, adjust the thickness of the body close to the striking surface, or achieve this through special striking surface appearance design. However, the aforementioned designs have low adjustability and it is difficult to finely adjust the return value by simply adjusting parameters during the manufacturing process. In addition, the aforementioned designs cannot produce different return values in response to different hitting speeds, and it is difficult to meet the actual needs of consumers.

Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a golf club head that can more easily adjust the kickback value during the manufacturing process.

Therefore, the golf club head of the present invention comprises a club head body, a striking panel disposed on the club head body, and at least one elastic body. The club head body defines an internal space and a groove connected to the internal space. The striking panel is located outside the groove along a hitting direction. The at least one elastic body is disposed in the groove.

The utility of the present invention is that the rebound value of the golf club head can be simply adjusted by adjusting the material and quantity of the at least one elastic body during the manufacturing process, thereby achieving a critical rebound value that meets the standard. In addition, by configuring elastic bodies of different materials and hardnesses, consumers with different hitting speeds can be matched to achieve the most efficient hitting rebound effect. For consumers with fast hitting speeds, a higher hardness elastic body configuration is used; for consumers with slow hitting speeds, a lower hardness elastic body configuration is used.

Referring to Fig. 1, Fig. 2, and Fig. 3, an embodiment of the golf club head of the present invention comprises a club head body 1, a striking panel 2 fixed to the club head body 1, and an elastic body 3 disposed in the club head body 1. The club head body 1 can be provided with a top cover 4 by a fixing method such as bonding, but the actual form should not be limited thereto. Referring to Fig. 2, Fig. 3, and Fig. 4, the club head body 1 comprises a shell wall portion 11 surrounding an inner space 111, a receiving wall portion 12 connected to the shell wall portion 11 and surrounding an opening 121, an extending wall portion 13 extending inwardly from the shell wall portion 11, and a connecting wall portion 14 connecting the extending wall portion 13 and the receiving wall portion 12 along a hitting direction A. The opening 121 is opened along the hitting direction A and connected to the internal space 111, and the opening 121 is for the striking panel 2 to be embedded. The extension wall portion 13 is located on the inner side of the striking panel 2 along the hitting direction A. The extension wall portion 13, the connecting wall portion 14, and a portion of the receiving wall portion 12 cooperate to define a groove 15 connected to the internal space 111. The groove 15 is located relatively below the opening 121, and the height of the groove 15 is 3mm to 20mm, and the width along the hitting direction A is 0.5mm to 10mm. It should be particularly noted that the striking panel 2 can also be integrally formed with the ball head body 1 through casting or other methods, so that the ball head body 1 does not need to have the opening 121.

The elastic body 3 is located between the extension wall portion 13 and the receiving wall portion 12 along the hitting direction A, and is supported on the connecting wall portion 14, so that the elastic body 3 is accommodated in the groove 15. A portion of the elastic body 3 protrudes upward from the groove 15 and extends into the internal space 111, and is located on the inner side of the striking panel 2 along the hitting direction A.

On the other hand, the present invention can simply adjust the rebound value of the golf club head by adjusting the material and quantity of the at least one elastic body 3 during the manufacturing process. For example, in addition to using an elastic body 3 with a single hardness, the elastic body 3 can also be made of a polymer mixed with multiple materials, or multiple elastic bodies 3 with different hardness can be configured. By configuring elastic bodies 3 with different materials and softness, consumers with different hitting speeds can be matched to achieve the most efficient hitting rebound effect. For consumers with fast hitting speeds, a higher hardness elastic body 3 is used; for consumers with slow hitting speeds, a lower hardness elastic body 3 is used. The design that the groove 15 is located inside and relatively below the opening 121 allows the elastic body 3 to be easily disposed in the groove 15 by injection during the manufacturing process of the present invention, thereby reducing the difficulty of processing. The design that the elastic body 3 is disposed at a relatively low position can also prevent the overall center of gravity of the golf club head from being too high, thereby reducing the impact on the center of gravity position.

In summary, the design of the present invention makes it easy to adjust the rebound value during the manufacturing process, thereby manufacturing products that better meet the needs and preferences of consumers, and the elastic body 3 can suppress high rebounds at low hitting speeds to prevent the rebound value from being higher than the measurement specification, and will not excessively reduce the rebound at high hitting speeds, so that the rebound value can maintain a relatively high value without violating the specification, so as to maintain the ball speed and flight distance, so that the purpose of the present invention can be achieved.

However, the above is only an example of the implementation of the present invention, and it should not be used to limit the scope of the implementation of the present invention. All simple equivalent changes and modifications made according to the scope of the patent application of the present invention and the content of the patent specification are still within the scope of the patent of the present invention.

Claims (4)

A golf club head comprises: a club head body defining an internal space, and a groove connected to the internal space, the club head body defining an opening connected to the internal space and opened along a ball striking direction, the groove adjacent to the opening along the ball striking direction, the groove located relatively below the opening, the height of the groove is 3mm to 20mm, and the width along the ball striking direction is 0.5mm to 10mm; a striking panel disposed on the club head body and located outside the groove along the ball striking direction, the striking panel disposed in the opening; and at least one elastic body disposed in the groove, the at least one elastic body having a portion protruding upward from the groove and extending into the internal space, and located inside the striking panel along the ball striking direction. A golf club head as described in claim 1, wherein the club head body includes a shell wall portion surrounding the inner space, a receiving wall portion connected to the shell wall portion and surrounding the opening, an extension wall portion extending inwardly from the shell wall portion and located on the inner side of the striking panel along the hitting direction, and a connecting wall portion connecting the extension wall portion and the receiving wall portion along the hitting direction, wherein the extension wall portion, the connecting wall portion, and a portion of the receiving wall portion cooperate to define the groove. A golf club head as described in claim 2, wherein the at least one elastic body is located between the extension wall portion of the club head body and the receiving wall portion along the hitting direction, and is supported above the connecting wall portion. The golf club head as described in claim 1 includes a plurality of elastic bodies each having a different hardness.
