Description
本發明涉及製備著色無光塗料(matt coatings)(如無光油漆(matt paints)和印刷油墨(printing inks))用顏料組合物。此外,本發明涉及用於製備該顏料組合物的工藝和含有該組合物的塗料製劑。最後,本發明涉及基材的著色無光表面和在此公開的顏料組合物在對基材進行消光方面的用途。
表面的消光是通過在微觀範圍內選擇性地使表面粗糙化而實現的。如此,使其不再定向反射入射光,而是使入射光產生漫射。表面結構的高度、形狀和數量決定漆膜或印刷油墨的光澤度。
通常將特定的消光劑添加到油漆或印刷油墨組合物中從而得到無光的表面。常用消光劑為球狀顆粒,粒徑範圍約為1-20µm,並受到膜層厚度的影響。實踐中,主要使用沉澱的或熱致的二氧化矽或矽膠作為消光劑,但也有使用基於鑄造樹脂(duromers)、蠟或熱塑性塑膠的消光劑。另外已知的是,矽酸鹽、碳酸鈣以及不同種類的空心球也可適用。
因此,EP 1 398 301 B1公開了用於基於沉澱二氧化矽的油漆(paints)或大漆(lacquers)的消光劑,其中所述沉澱二氧化矽具有5-15µm的粒徑(d50)範圍和350-550 m²/g的比表面(BET)。可選地,該二氧化矽塗敷有蠟。
DE 195 16 253 A1公開了基於噴霧乾燥的矽膠的消光劑。為了保證凝聚物的足夠穩定性,使用諸如層狀矽酸鹽、熱致二氧化矽或有機聚合物之類的粘結劑。該消光劑的粒徑為1-20µm,比孔容積為0.4-2.5ml/g。
一般來說,消光效果隨消光劑的用量的增大而增大。較大的顆粒具有較大的消光效果,但會形成非期望的較為不光滑的表面。此外,含量較高的消光劑和較長的分散時間導致油漆系統粘度的增加,從而造成加工問題。另外,已知的基於二氧化矽的消光劑由於極易起塵(dusting)而難以處理,因此較為不利。
根據專利申請EP 1 500 3103,通過在無光油漆和印刷油墨的製備過程中使用平均尺寸d50為2µm-200µm顏料凝聚物而避免了這些不利因素。該工藝的特徵在於顏料凝聚物在分散過程中部分衰變(decay),例如,在珠磨機中進行的分散過程發生部分衰變,但粘度沒有增加。該工藝的另一特點在於:消光劑和顏料具有相同的化學組成和表面性質。該工藝的缺點在於:由於顏料凝聚物的部分衰變,消光度在很大程度上取決於輸入的分散能量。
因此,本領域需要一種用於製備較少起塵、分散穩定並可重複產生均勻無光表面的無光塗料的消光劑。此外,還需要一種用於製備無光著色塗料的工藝,其中消光劑具有近似於顏料的成分,但其消光效果不受分散方法的影響。
本發明的技術問題在於提供一種用於製備著色無光塗料的顏料組合物、用於製備該組合物的工藝、含有該顏料組合物的塗料製劑(coating formulation)以及所述組合物在對基材進行消光方面的用途。
該問題是通過一種用於製備無光塗料的顏料組合物而解決的,其特徵在於:所述顏料組合物包括具有雙峰式質量相關粒徑分佈的無機顏料顆粒,其中第一粒級具有色素級粒徑,其中第二粒級的平均粒徑(d50)的範圍為2-200µm,優選為2-100µm,更優選為2-50µm,最優選為2-20µm,並且其中所述第一粒級和第二粒級已經過表面處理。
根據本發明的顏料組合物具有良好的消光性能和優異的不透明度。此外,該組合物具有高的耐衝擊性和耐磨性以及提高的化學穩定性。由於顆粒不發生衰變,該組合物的結合既沒有顯著改變塗料製劑的消光效果也沒有顯著改變其粘度,從而使製劑易於製備並易於處理和應用。而且,由於粘度和基體行為相似,相對於光澤性油漆僅需對製劑進行輕微的調整,因此使得根據本發明的組合物具有可行性。
因此,在第一方面,本發明涉及一種用於製備無光塗料的顏料組合物,其特徵在於,所述顏料組合物包括具有雙峰式質量相關粒徑分佈的無機顏料顆粒,其中第一粒級具有色素級粒徑,其中第二粒級的平均粒徑(d50)的範圍為2-200µm,優選為2-100µm,更優選為2-50µm,最優選為2-20µm,並且其中所述第一粒級和第二粒級已經過表面處理。

本文述及的與組合物有關的所有百分比,除非另有明確說明,均指分別基於所討論的混合物或組合物的重量百分比。
本文使用的「至少一」是指1或更多,即,1、2、3、4、5、6、7、8、9或更多。對於組分,其值是指該組分的種類而不是指分子的絕對數量。帶重量(wt%)的描述,其值是指包含在所述組合物/製劑中的所述種類的所有化合物,這意味著該組合物/製劑除了相應化合物的述及量之外不包含任何額外的該類化合物。

本文使用的「顏料」是指基本不溶於根據DIN 55943的應用介質中的無機或有機著色劑(colorants),即在應用介質中既沒有物理變化也沒有化學變化並且保持其顆粒結構。它們被用來進行著色,該著色作用是基於顏料顆粒通過吸收和緩和與可見光發生的相互作用。此外,本文使用的「色素級粒徑」,是指在0.01-1µm範圍內的平均粒徑(d50),優選為0.2-0.5µm,且更優選為0.2-0.4µm。
為現有技術已知並適用於本發明目的的任何無機顏料均可用作所述的無機顏料顆粒。優選地,所述無機顏料顆粒為金屬鹽,更優選地,所述無機顏料顆粒為金屬氧化物。
適合的無機顏料包括且不限於,白色顏料,如二氧化鈦(C.I.顏料白6)、鋅白、含鉛氧化鋅;硫化鋅、鋅鋇白;黑色顏料,如氧化鐵黑(C.I.顏料黑11)、鐵錳黑、尖晶石黑(C.I.顏料黑27);炭黑(C.I.顏料黑7);彩色顏料,如氧化鉻、水合氧化鉻綠;鉻綠(C.I.顏料綠48);鈷綠(C.I.顏料綠50);群青綠;鈷藍(C.I.顏料藍28和36;C.I.顏料藍72);群青藍;錳藍;群青紫;鈷和錳紫;氧化鐵紅(C.I.顏料紅101);硫硒化鎘(C.I.顏料紅108);硫化鈰(C.I.顏料紅265);鉬酸鹽紅(C.I.顏料紅104);群青紅;氧化鐵棕(C.I.顏料棕6和7)、混合棕、尖晶石和剛玉相(C.I.顏料棕,29、31、33、34、35、37、39和40)、鉻鈦黃(C.I.顏料棕24)、鉻橙;硫化鈰(C.I.顏料橙75);氧化鐵黃(C.I.顏料黃42);鎳鈦黃(C.I.顏料黃53;C.I.顏料黃157、158、159、160、161、162、163、164和189);鉻鈦黃;尖晶石相(C.I.顏料黃119);硫化鎘和硫化鎘鋅(C.I.顏料黃37和35);鉻黃(C.I.顏料黃34),以及釩酸鉍(C.I.顏料黃184)。
此外,還可以使用通常用作填料的無機顏料顆粒,如氧化鋁、氫氧化鋁、硫化鋅、天然和沉澱白堊,以及硫酸鋇。
優選地,顏料顆粒選自由碳酸鎂、硫酸鋇、二氧化鈦、氧化鋅、硫化鋅、碳酸鈣鎂石(huntite)、鉛白、鋅鋇白、方石英(cristobalite)、陶瓷土及其混合物組成的組。本文公開的所有顏料顆粒中,二氧化鈦由於其顏料性能以及高的莫氏硬度而最為優選。二氧化鈦可以呈金紅石、銳鈦礦或板鈦礦的晶體結構存在,通常是呈金紅石或銳鈦礦的晶體結構存在。相比銳鈦礦,金紅石由於其較低的光催化活性而特別適合。
在使用二氧化鈦的情況下,使用通常由硫酸法(sulfate process)或氯化法(chloride process)製備且未經處理的二氧化鈦顆粒(二氧化鈦基顏料)作為根據本發明的第一粒級的起始物料。色素級二氧化鈦基顏料的平均粒徑d50通常為0.01-1µm,優選為0.2-0.5µm,更優選為0.2-0.4µm。使用非色素級粗二氧化鈦基顏料作為所述的第二粒級,其平均粒徑d50為2-200µm,優選為2-100µm,更優選為2-50µm,且最優選為2-20µm。例如,所述粗二氧化鈦基顏料可以為由硫酸法或氯化法製備的金紅石。顆粒可以具有最大至約2 mm的粒徑d50並可選地被研磨至所期望的粒徑範圍,然後可選地進行分級,例如通過篩分來分級。例如,可以在攪拌珠磨機(agitator bead mill)、擺磨機(pendulum mill)或輥磨機(roller mill)中進行研磨。在硫酸法的二氧化鈦生產中,是通過在煆燒過程中加入特定的添加劑、延長煆燒時間和/或升高煆燒溫度來實現所期望的粒徑的。產生的顆粒的特點是具有較強的燒結性,因此,應用於塗料中時,在後續分散過程是非常穩定的,即其不發生衰變。在特定的實施例中,可以使用由氯化法生產並經燒結工藝處理的二氧化鈦顆粒。
優選地,塗料物質的顏料顆粒已經表面處理有鋁、矽、鈦、鋯、錫、鈰或磷的化合物、和/或選自矽烷、矽氧烷、TMP、TME和HMP組成的組的有機化合物。
進一步,在本發明的優選實施例中,第一粒級和第二粒級已經過相同的表面處理。如此,這兩種粒級具有大致相同的表面性質,如基體相容形,特別是對表面活性添加劑的相容性,從而使其可管理性顯著提高。
優選地,基於顏料組合物的總重量,第二粒級在顏料組合物中以1-10wt%的量存在,優選為1-6wt%。
根據本發明,用於生產無光塗料用顏料組合物的工藝,包括步驟:
(a)提供具有色素級粒徑的第一無機顏料粒級;
(b)提供第二無機顏料粒級,其平均粒徑(d50)範圍為2-200µm,優選為2-100µm,更優選為2-50µm,最優選為2-20µm;以及
(c)在水懸浮液中對所述第一顏料粒級和第二顏料粒級進行表面處理。
在硫酸法的二氧化鈦生產中,是通過在煆燒過程中加入特定的添加劑、延長煆燒時間和/或升高煆燒溫度來實現所期望的粒徑的。產生的顆粒的特點是具有較強的燒結性,因此,應用於塗料中時,其在後續分散過程是非常穩定的,即其不發生衰變。在特定的實施例中,可以使用由氯化法生產並經燒結工藝處理的二氧化鈦顆粒。
隨後,顏料顆粒被表面處理有無機和/或有機化合物。表面處理對應於通常塗有顏料的表面塗料。塗料物質包括,例如,Si、Al、Ti、Zr、Sn、Ce或 P的化合物,或有機化合物,如矽烷、矽氧烷、三羥甲基丙烷(TMP)、三羥甲基乙烷(TME)、六偏磷酸鹽(HMP)等。如此,消光劑具有與常用顏料相似的表面性質,例如,基體相容性,特別是對表面活性添加劑的相容性。
在表面處理過程中,可以塗敷一層或多層或混合層的塗料物質。在本發明的特定實施例中,經表面處理的顆粒的外層含有鋁化合物,尤其是氧化鋁或含水氧化鋁。例如,通過在水懸浮液中將塗料物質沉澱到顆粒上來進行表面處理。這些方法尤其可從二氧化鈦顏料技術中獲知,並可應用於本發明。在表面處理範圍之內,表面處理過程中塗覆於顆粒的表面塗料的層厚在納米範圍內,優選為小於10nm,更優選為1-10nm,從而使經表面處理的顆粒的粒徑相比未經處理的顆粒不會顯著改變。
優選地,兩種粒級的表面處理以相同的方式進行,要麼將兩種粒級一起在同一懸浮液中進行處理,要麼分別將各粒級單獨在各懸浮液中處理。在第一種情況下,在製備的含有兩種粒級的懸浮液中,基於顆粒總重量,第二粒級的占比為1-10wt%,優選為1-6wt%。隨後,在懸浮液中對顆粒進行表面處理和分離、以及像往常一樣進行洗滌、乾燥和微粉化。在第二種情況下,分別將各粒級在懸浮液中單獨進行表面處理,然後分離、洗滌、乾燥、微粉化,最後在乾燥狀態以期望的定量比進行混合。
在表面處理之後,將顆粒分離出來,並進行過濾、洗滌、乾燥、以及可選地進行微粉化,例如,在蒸汽噴射研磨機中進行微粉化。微粉化通常在蒸汽噴射研磨機中進行,在此過程中,可添加有機化合物,如TMP或TME。這些方法對於本領域技術人員來說是已知的。
本發明還涉及用於製備含有本文所述的顏料組合物的著色無光表面的塗料製劑。組合物在塗料製劑中的含量,基於塗料製劑的總重,可以為0.1-98wt%,優選為1-50wt%,更優選為2-25%,最優選為3-23wt%。除了根據本發明的顏料組合物之外,製劑還可以具有常用的顏料組合物和顏料。優選地,製劑不含有任何額外的顏料組合物。
進一步地,製劑包括常用的組分。適用於本發明目的且為現有技術已知的任何組分都可能作為組分使用。優選地,製劑包含選自由粘結劑、消泡劑、分散劑、填料、溶劑、防腐劑、成膜助劑和流變添加劑組成的群組中的至少一個組分。防腐劑還包括常用殺菌劑。塗料製劑包括大漆、油漆和印刷油墨。
本發明還涉及基材的著色無光表面,其中所述表面的特徵在於所述表面塗覆有本文公開的塗料製劑。製劑在常用組合物中可以是以既定的一部分、兩部分以及多組分油漆的形式。採用常規技術和方法將油漆施加到基材上,並在油漆組合物尤其是粘結劑的作用下而固化,例如採用UV照射或乾燥。基材包括且不限於木材、塑膠、金屬、紙張、玻璃織物及其混合物。
在成品塗料中,第一色素級顏料粒級(第一粒級)提供著色,第二較粗的顏料粒級(d50範圍為2-200µm)提供所需的表面粗糙度。
本發明還涉及一種塑膠,其特徵在於所述塑膠包括根據本發明的顏料組合物。為現有技術已知並適用於本發明目的的任何塑膠都可以用作所述的塑膠。本文使用的「塑膠」是指基於塑膠的總重量含有至少50wt%的聚合物的材料。所述聚合物可以是均聚物、共聚物或接枝聚合物。此外,所述聚合物可以是無規、等規或間規聚合物。進一步的,所述塑膠是熱塑性塑膠、彈性體、工程塑膠(duroplast)或熱塑性彈性體,優選為熱塑性塑膠。所述聚合物選自且不限於由聚烯烴、聚苯乙烯、聚醯胺、聚酮、聚酯、聚氨酯、聚(甲基)丙烯酸脂及其混合物組成的群組。所述聚烯烴選自且不限於由聚亞甲基(polymethylene)、聚乙烯,聚丙烯、聚丁烯及其混合物組成的群組。根據本發明的組合物可以通過已知的技術和方法,例如通過擠壓而被結合到塑膠中。本文所述的組合物採用擠壓工藝特別有利,因為擠壓過程中組合物不會衰變且擠壓對消光效果沒有影響。消光劑按照常用量加工到塑膠中。因此,根據本發明,基於塑膠的總重量,所得塑膠含有0.1-30wt%的消光劑,優選含有1-25wt%的消光劑。
最後,本發明還涉及一種顏料組合物在對基材進行消光方面的應用。如上所述,所述基材包括且不限於木材、塑膠、金屬、紙張、玻璃織物及其混合物。
測試方法
粒徑分佈和質量相關的中值d50
該方法採用顆粒(由於重力而沉降)在水中的懸浮液的濃度變化來計算其粒徑分佈。用X射線來檢測濃度的變化。顆粒吸收強度的損失與射束路徑中的固體濃度有關。粒徑的計算是基於固定顆粒沉降速率的Stokes定律。
流動粘度
採用DIN 53211方法來測定流動粘度。將成品油漆倒入出口毛細管直徑設定為4mm的流杯中。當出口打開時,流體在其自身重量作用下流經開設在杯底的中心出口。使用Cuptimer 243 T自動流動時間測量站對出現的流體流進行光學掃描來測量流動時間,且測得的時間被立即顯示在設備單元上。
對比度
採用標準技術並使用來自Byk gardner型號為Color guide sphere的儀器以及購自Jakob Benn & Söhne的Hostaphan RNK 23箔片來測量對比度。
實例1a
在窯中進行粗顆粒、非色素級二氧化鈦的燒結。對燒結的物料(220g)進行研磨,採用Atterberg沉澱技術對粒徑進行分級。得到的聚集物的粒徑d50m為17(+/-2)µm。對該粒級進行後處理形成氧化鋁層。氧化鋁的量計算為與所使用的白色顏料的層厚近似。
實例1b
實例1b包括實例1a的製備過程,除了不進行後處理之外。
實例2
標準製劑是基於溶解在乙醇中以碎片(chips)形式提供的消化纖維、以及乙酸乙酯。其它組分為增塑劑、以及用於改善表面和光澤度的添加劑。在準備好媒介物(vehicle)及其在顏料組合物中的權重之後,使用研磨珠將製劑在Skandex分散器中進行分散。
對比例1
對比例1例包括如實例2所述的標準製劑的製備,其中顏料組合物為呈金紅石晶型的二氧化鈦顏料,購自Kronos國際公司,產品名稱為Kronos 2066,其後處理有氧化鋁。流動粘度和光澤度(20°、60°、85°)的測定如上所述。數據參見表1。
對比例2
對比例2包括如實例2所述的標準製劑的製備,顏料組合物為購自Kronos國際公司產品名稱為Kronos 2066並後處理有氧化鋁的金紅石晶型二氧化鈦顏料(為所述組合物總量的97wt%)和市售的Acematt TS100消光劑(為所述組合物總量的3wt%)。流動粘度和光澤度(20°、60°、85°)的測定如上所述。數據參見表1。

相比於由市售二氧化鈦顏料和另外添加的市售消光劑製備的對比油漆(對比例2、3),根據本發明製備的油漆(實例3、4、5、6)具有較低的粘度。相比於由不含任何消光劑的市售二氧化鈦製備的光澤油漆(對比例1),根據本發明製備的無光油漆(實例3、4、5、6)不顯示粘度的任何顯著增加且具有良好的消光效果。此外,根據本發明含有顆粒的油漆均進行了類似的後處理(實例5、6),相比於根據本發明包含顆粒但未經類似後處理的這些油漆(實例3、4),展示出改善的粘度性能。

Claims (15)
- 一種用於製備無光塗料的顏料組合物,其特徵在於, 所述顏料組合物包括具有雙峰式質量相關粒徑分佈的無機顏料顆粒, 其中,第一粒級具有色素級粒徑, 其中,第二粒級的平均粒徑d50的範圍為2-200µm,優選為2-100µm,更優選為2-50µm,最優選為2-20µm,並且 其中,所述第一粒級和第二粒級已經過表面處理。
- 根據請求項1所述的顏料組合物,其特徵在於,所述無機顏料顆粒為金屬鹽。
- 根據請求項1所述的顏料組合物,其特徵在於,所述無機顏料顆粒為金屬氧化物。
- 根據請求項3所述的顏料組合物,其特徵在於,所述金屬氧化物為二氧化鈦。
- 根據請求項1-4中任一項所述的顏料組合物,其特徵在於, 所述顏料顆粒已經表面處理有鋁、矽、鈦、鋯、錫、鈰或磷的化合物,和/或 已經表面處理有選自由矽烷、矽氧烷、三羥甲基丙烷TMP、三羥甲基乙烷TME和六偏磷酸鹽HMP組成的組的有機化合物。
- 根據請求項1-5中任一項所述的顏料組合物,其特徵在於, 所述第一粒級和第二粒級已經過相同的表面處理;和/或 所述顏料組合物含有的所述第二粒級的顆粒為1-8wt%,優選為3-6wt%。
- 一種用於生產無光塗料用顏料組合物的工藝,包括步驟: (a)提供具有色素級粒徑的第一無機顏料粒級; (b)提供第二無機顏料粒級,其平均粒徑d50範圍為2-200µm,優選為2-100µm,更優選為2-50µm,最優選為2-20µm;以及 (c)在水懸浮液中對所述第一顏料粒級和第二顏料粒級進行表面處理。
- 根據請求項7所述的工藝,其特徵在於, 所述第一粒級和第二粒級的所述顆粒為金屬氧化物;和/或 所述第一粒級和第二粒級的所述顆粒為金屬鹽;和/或 所述第一粒級和第二粒級的所述顆粒為二氧化鈦。
- 根據請求項7或8所述的工藝,其特徵在於, 所述表面處理為無機和/或有機表面處理;和/或 所述第一粒級和第二粒級的所述顆粒已經表面處理有鋁、矽、鈦、鋯、錫、鈰或磷的化合物,和/或已經表面處理有選自由矽烷、矽氧烷、TMP、TME和HMP組成的組的有機化合物。
- 根據請求項7-9中任一項所述的工藝,其特徵在於, 所述第一粒級和第二粒級一起進行表面處理;或 所述第一粒級和第二粒級以相同的方式分別單獨進行表面處理。

- 一種基材的著色無光表面,其特徵在於,所述表面塗覆有根據請求項11所述的塗料製劑。

- 一種包括消光劑的塑膠,其特徵在於,所述塑膠包括根據請求項1-6中任一項所述的顏料組合物。
