Abstract
An article transport device and a method for detecting article position deviation are disclosed, which limits as little as possible about the kind or shape of the article supported by the article supporting portion and can calculate the standard pose gradient of the article supported by the article supporting portion relative to the floor plan, the standard position deviation value along a protrusion return direction of the article supported by the article supporting portion relative to the carrier, and the standard position deviation value along a length direction of the article supported by the article supporting portion relative to the movement route. The carrier is installed with an article status sensor which can inspect the status of a to-be-inspected body installed on the article when the carrier protrudes to a protrusion side limit of the protrusion return range or close to the limit. Therefore, an operation control mechanism structure can calculate the standard pose gradient of the article supported by the article supporting portion relative to the floor plan, the standard position deviation value along a protrusion return direction of the article supported by the article supporting portion relative to the carrier, and the standard position deviation value along a length direction of the article supported by the article supporting portion relative to the movement route based on the inspection information of the article status sensor.
