Abstract
A mold core for molding glass, comprising a substrate and a protection film. The protection film is disposed on the substrate and, instead of being composed of noble metal like platinum iridium alloy, iridium rhenium alloy, or iridium ruthenium alloy, is made of tantalum and ruthenium; thus, the cost of fabrication can be effectively reduced, and the standard of high quality of mold core used for glass molded lenses with high precision or high softening point can still be attained.
