Abstract

The lock has an access control circuit (12), housed in an internal door knob (8), actuated by a coded key fob type transmitter. This energizes a coil (22) causing an armature (24) to engage a coupling system (18) with an external door knob (10) which houses a battery (14). This enables the knob to actuate the locking pin (6). A counter magnet (50) can be provided to hold the coupling in the disengaged position.
