Procedure for charging of wet fuel, such as peat, into a pressurized space, and treatment of the fuel so that it is suitable for use as a fuel in a pressurized gasification or combustion process. The fuel is pumped as a watery slurry to the pressurized space, where the fuel is mechanically de-watered so that its dry-matter content becomes at least 25%. <IMAGE>
