Abstract

La presente invencion se refiere a una membrana de filtro modificada para separar una solucion cruda de un producto biologico y un contaminante viral que comprende: (a) una membrana de filtro que tiene una superficie porosa basada en celulosa; y (b) al menos un ion metalico divalente ( Cu2+, Ca2+, y Zn2+ ) unido a la superficie porosa a base de celulosa de la membrana de filtro para formar una superficie porosa a base de celulosa de filtro modificada, en donde la superficie porosa a base de celulosa modificada separa la solucion cruda al retener un contaminante viral mayor de 15 nm de diametro mientras permite que pase un producto biologico menor de 15 nm de diametro; tambien proporciona un metodo para filtrar una solucion cruda de un producto biologico y un contaminante viral.
