ALTERNATIVAMENTE, UN MATERIAL EXPANSIBLE EN AGUA PUEDE INCORPORARSE AL MATERIAL EXPLOSIVO, MEDIANTE LO CUAL TRAS LA EXPOSICION A LA HUMEDAD EL MATERIAL QUE ABSORBE AGUA SE EXPANDIRA SUFICIENTEMENTE PARA FRAGMENTAR EL MATERIAL EXPLOSIVO PARA DAR PARTICULAS INSENSIBLES A LA INICIACION. LA INSENSIBILIDAD A LA INICIACION SE CONSIGUE MEDIANTE LA INCORPORACION DE AGUA, QUE ACTUA COMO UN AGENTE DESENSIBILIZANTE ASI COMO FRAGMENTA EL MATERIAL EXPLOSIVO PARA DAR PARTICULAS SUFICIENTEMENTE PEQUENAS QUE ESTAN POR DEBAJO DEL DIAMETRO CRITICO PARA LA INICIACION EXPLOSIVA. TAMBIEN SE DESCRIBEN FROMULACIONES EXPLOSIVAS, CONFORMADAS, AUTODEGRADABLES, QUE COMPRENDEN UN MATERIAL EXPLOSIVO Y UN MATERIAL EXPANSIBLE EN AGUA
